The quality does not look great, there must be a better way. Can you not dismantel the picture in R G B values and then puzzle those together or something to have a more smooth and pronounced look ?
@jrdevelopment2020

One thing you can do is import the file into Blender (free open source software) or another sculpting software to make it more pronounced and use the smoothing tools. There is another method made by someone I follow. here is the Link. Hope this helps. kzread.info/dash/bejne/loyVxK16dtDIgaw.html

Photoshop use grey and white mask the areas you want to raise and adjust the opacity of the colors. Use Black as the background this will be transparent in carveco or vetric. watch my othr video removing background you will see what i mean. thanks for watching.
Game changer
Did you know? AI tools can convert a 2D picture to a 3D mesh
no picture comes up on my height map i can see the name but wont bring the picture in

where did I ever say Carveco is free? Read the description.
thats not creating a hieght map all its doing is creating a greyscale negative. the body is out front and the head is way back in the distance. it doesnt work that way. you could do the exact same in any 3d program by applying the negative of an image to the bump or displacement maps. Ive 3d modeled since 1991 if there were any easy way i would know it and this is not it. you would be better off posterizing it and v-carving
@jrdevelopment2020

appreciate your comment in the picture the eagle had its head back. however, any image can be converted to a heightmap because a heightmap is nothing more than a pixel giving height information.(Black, White) in the case of any program you have to work a lot more to get the results were this program makes it quicker. in CNC machining its only taking a 2D image and giving it height information in the pixels. black is nothing white is everything and grey is the middle. we are not creating a 3d model from this we are taking a 2D image and a way to engrave a picture into wood. and I have used this technique to carve pictures of loved ones. and also, I may not have been doing 3D as long as you, but I still have enough to know what I am doing. I do appreciate your input though.
Carveco is not free nor has it ever been free!!
