I think N1 jackets, regardless of brand looks so much better in over size….i wear a large but even thinking of another at XL.

Thanks for the great review! You mentioned it's a bit tight under armpits and that made me wonder if that's the case with Iron Heart N-1 Deck jacket? I'm 5'10 , 185lb and was thinking to get size L, but I"m afraid of this tight armpit issues. If so, is there a chance the fabric will stretch over time and become more loose?

I don’t think you can depend on stretching in this case. But I’d recommend you go with large. We’re sold out of iron hearts. If you want to check out the UES let me know.
