Owning a Tudor Pelagos. I can genuinely say, all the things that bothered me about the watch is now addressed in the new one. Thinner, and slimmer. This watch is going to do very well.

what does owning a tudor do to your life vs a casio or a swatch? I get the expensive one's, its the average the budget and value watches that bother me. A mechanical watch is a luxury, why'd you settle for budget luxury. I'd never buy a budget Rolls.

@@ImtianaJones good sir why'd you need a tool box now when there are better digital options. I get wrist watches as jewellery or statements pieces or fun or crazy but I can't seem to fathom why a person barely making bread would spend on this and justify it by calling it a tool. Same dilemma when I see someone with bags of cash look at this when they can vacheron or bvlgari or Moser or something that atleast doesn't get lost in blandness or averageness.

Spot on with your comments - I originally wanted a Pelagos but ended up buying a BB58 as the size was more appropriate. I guess getting a Pelagos is back on the cards :)
The 39 is my new favorite Pelagos. Tudor is on fire and they knocked this one out of the park. The red lettering on the dial is the chef's kiss!
It's everything I wanted when I first saw the Pelogos. If I can find stock I'll be grabbing one this year
Great video…Love the banter and dry humour….If they did the LHD look I’d buy it in an instant …if they had one in stock..This will be a massive hit
The regular one was too big for me, but this one looks great. It will probably be my first luxury watch (or the snowflake)
please dont forget the ranger, have had the ranger for over 2 months and still love it!
A very smart move by Tudor, making a more compact, thinner version of the original Pelagos that will appeal to a wider audience of watch fans. Having a more handsome dial/markers, the outstanding in-house COSC movement similar to the BB58, but curious why fitted with the MC5400 previously used on exhibition case back models like the 925. Offering a titanium bracelet with the T-Fit clasp (instead of that ugly ratchet-style eye-sore) and a complimentary rubber strap is a big plus. If they add alternative dial colours to the range this may well give the Omega SM300 Diver a proper run for its money as a more tool-like alternative. My only reservation until I get hands on is the sunburst dial and bezel aesthetic.
So to get a smaller watch you have to forgo or dial back: - Water resistance 500 to 200m - He valve - Awesome adjustable clasp - Date indicator - Dial detail such as the step down - No blue version (yet) I love the 42mm and I like this 39mm. But it doesn't feel like a 'smaller pelagos', more like a Titanium BB58.

When looking at the Longiness Hydroconquest, which one can pick iup at 39mm, 41mm or 43mm, with 300m WR for half the price, them saying that Tudor is value for money is a complete joke.
I love my original Pelagos and it gets a lot of wrist time, but I don’t think I would trade for this one. But with that being said, there is no doubt that this is a beautiful watch that could truly be a one watch only owner that would be perfect for everyday activities and dress attire from a suit to a motorcycle jacket, surfboard and fishing pole! Yeah, I really like my Pelagos!
@frosty4peter

Exactly I completely agree with you! Nothing beats the original Pelagos!!
Pelagos 39 looks excellent, wish I could get it with the hour hand from the Ranger. As far as Tudor vs Omega, I think Omega has better and more diverse design language, but their lack of micro adjustment puts them miles behind Tudor regarding bracelets.
As an owner of the original Pelagos with a smaller-ish (7") wrist would imagine this to have proportions that fall a little bit more within the "norm" of what's considered appropriate sizing but don't neccesarily mind that the 42mm has extra chunkiness to it. Would be curious (and a little nervous re: buyers remorse) to try the 39mm on but do think original nails it with weight, feel and aestetic for a dive watch. Things I like on new one: T-fit clasp (wish they kept the backside of original solid metal) and full marker lume (looks clean and hard to tell in pirctures but more "white" / less greenish). Also.. for anyone complaining about Grade 2 Titatinum vs. Grade 5: Although 5 has a higher tensile strength, 2 is more often used in aqueous / caustic applications as well as being easier to machine. It MIGHT be a cost thing but realistically, Grade 2 makes for a better dive watch material and allows Tudor to be more flexible with design. Unless you plan on using your watch as a recovery rope to tow rigs out of ditches I think you'll be fine..

Interested about your comment on grade 2 vs. 5. I know that grade 2 has exceptional corrosion resistance, but does it really matter in environments where humans may survive, i.e. seawater? I understand it's used in chemical processing, or desalination processes where the temperature is extremely high. But is it really that better than grade 5, which has very good (though not as good) corrosion resistance, in normal seawater conditions (i.e. diving)?
@johnnyguitar6697

@@jacobygulsten1103 I know what you mean. I think I remember this pitting being caused by by a differential in oxygen levels between the inside of the case (the part just outside the gasket where water gets trapped) and the outside of the case. I am not sure if this happens with titanium, though. On the grade 2 vs. grade 5 titanium coorosion debate, I have read from metallurgists that while grade 2 is much preferred in industrial application in extremely aggressive environment (e.g. desalination plants), but that there's no practical difference for diving / swimming. The choice of grade 2 is dictated either by cost considerations (it is cheaper to buy and to machine) or aesthetic ones (grade 2 is matter is looks more "tool-ish".
This is the Pelagos of my dreams! I will miss the step down insets for the hour markers but the trade off is a step up in appearance!
I like it a lot better than the BB58, but I wish they would have kept the matt bezel and dial. A matt blue or red version of this would be great.

I hope they didn’t remove the stepped bezel in order to bring it more in line with the vintage Tudor and Rolex submariners (something which only the Black Bay should be concerned with). I love the size and I love the stepped bezel. It’s a great watch though!
I read that the Pelagos was a grade 2 titanium case, where as the Longines Sprit titanium is a grade 5. Also a lot cheaper. Should the titanium grade be a notable factor prior to purchasing I wonder ?
I like this a lot! I bought a BB58 a few months ago, but now find myself looking at this a awful lot.. I do still love the BB tho.

I was in the market to buy the BB58 39mm from my local AD (still on the waitlist) but this makes me think if I just get this 39mm pelagos. From the looks of it, the bezel, hands and dial wise, this would be a great first swiss watch.

Love the deeper teeth on the bezel, that was the 1st thing I noticed. I miss the step on the face, love that on the orig Pelagos.
Hilarious bants as usual, boys! Is Tudor's strategy to make so many varieties they there will eventually be a perfect model for everyone? That would be great for them and us, as long as they can still do it profitably. It's a very good looking watch, imo.
Beautiful watch and brilliant addition
Great reviews, I wear my black bay 58 in blue most of the time in preference to my new worn once Rolex Milgauss, think I might just as well sell it
I was going to get the BB Pro this winter. Getting this instead. I was worried about the thickness, especially since I have the 58 Black and the 58 Bronze... with this being the same sizing thanks to the MT5400... I want it.
I have been thinking about the BB58 because of the size and I am so glad I didn’t get one - this is the one. This.
I am really digging this! I need one.
This is defeinitely a potential replacement for the Sub. I may sell my BB58 for this. Tudor is maturing for sure.
What is not to like 39mm and no date window… and at last a new watch that’s not oversized. I have a 7” wrist and I remember trying on the 42mm Explorer 2 a while back and it just didn’t sit right and the Deep Sea was a watch I wanted to love but unless you are the Incredible Hulk it really was too big. I’ve recently bought myself a black rubber strap for my no date Submariner using the deployant clasp and loving it so agree this is a great addition with the two options. The symmetry on this watch is so much better with no date and no cyclops. Nice to see we have a proper looking signed crown on the Pelagos too and all titanium all for under £4K. I’m not going to say affordable but it’s certainly a more realistic choice and obtainable than a sub.

Very happy Omega SMP 300 (black ceramic wave dial) owner here. I want this watch.
I like it. A blue version would be a killer.
I love the original Pelagos, I'm pretty sure I'd buy this one too.
Lug width may be 21mm apparently. I suspected (hoped 🙏) it was. Very beefy at case and serious taper to clasp.
This is a great watch, and tudor will make a lot of money, but i have a nth Näcken in SS with a nice deep blue and totally matt dial and love that more.
Agree with guys. If there was a blue version I would put my name down immediately. I love the blue Pelagos, but the sizing is too big for me personally.
I dunno, if I was going titanium, then I'd deffo want a bit of wrist presence. 41mm minimum, would be ideal for me. But of course there are plenty of chunky dive watches to choose from. And Panerai does have a tenuous Rolex connection. And they do it in Doc Savage Bronze.
now it only needs to be a steel version with a shiny ceramic besel... 👀
This version begs for an olive green version. Very military feeling. Would pair with the titanium colour too. I might just be looking for colour to give me an excuse to buy one to go with my LHD. 😂
DAMNIT! I just bought a BB58 last week.
Honestly I think I like the original coin edge on the bezel opposed to the new style. Still cool though
It’s cool, I’d prefer to have the T-fit, but overall I still prefer my 42mm Pelagos
Is the titanium lighter or still dull dark grey?
They nailed it 👍🏻
Love all the Tudor chunki bois, will have to see what the 39 feels like on the wrist.
I like this a lot! My only recommendation would be to reduce the text under Pelagos name for an even cleaner look. "Officially Certified" is not needed, I believe that is a given as a Chronometer. I currently have the 42mm Pelagos, but when this nondate model comes out in 42mm, I will definitely pick one up.

Save up towards one and get it. I was very pleasantly surprised by my BB58 and am now a Tudor fan.
Will the pelagos 39 bracelet fit on a bb58?
Forgot to mention the one line of text they got rid of. And i dont know for certain, but i think it now has more spacing between the links for more air/cooling, also it now uses grade 2 titanium instead of 5. previous models had a steel clasp, this is full titanium.
If they make one in the same blue like the fxd I’d get a second pelagos having already got the original black titanium.
A sunburst dial on a tool watch is akin to tarting up your wrench with a few Swarovski crystals.
I'm still waiting for Tudor starts to use colors.... (Orange, Yellow, Purple, Red, etc.)
Yaahhwwwnn! I fell asleep after 30 seconds watching this and woke up half an hour later. Thanks for the nap.
I’m not sure the Longines Hydroconquest isn’t just as attractive, frankly and comes in 39, 40, 41 and 43. I’m pretty sure it does! Help?
The “Single-Red Pelagos” 😆
My Tudor bb58 gmt has lousy lume and I have to rinse the bezel out with fresh water immediately after it gets out of the ocean or it’s not easy to move.at all.Maybe it’s a lemon but I think it’s probably going to be a trade in for the 39 mm Pelagos
Why did they decide to use grade 2 and not grade 5 Titanium ???
I have the 2 line eta 42mm version as all that text on the dial is so unnecessary. But having seen this new version on the rubber I’m giving my strap a swap out.
Yes, I’d also like to see this in blue or maybe a white dial as I already have an LHD.

Yes: Always looking for a White dial to come out of Tudor. So far only the BB Panda Chrono as far as a sports watch is concerned. When Tudor, when?
the real piece of the new collection in my opinion is the black bay pro 39, that non painted bezel it's exactly what I was waiting for, I use my watch while doing anything always, and after a couple of years the painted bezels usually get messy and weared down, this truly is a long lasting everyday companion.

This is getting back to a real tool watch at a great size.
Im so glad the “invicta era” (as i call it) of oversized large watches is over. finally the watch companies are catching on to the trend of smaller watches. 39mm will fit most people and unless you have huge wrists 38, 37 or even 35 will look good

What a beautiful SPB143 homage
I would definitely get a blue one if they did it. I started with a BB red and it was just too big. I then got a 58 and was hoping they did an MN and listened to their audience. But they messed it up, it's stiil too long lug to lug and the 21mm lug width also put me off. This is the new Rolex sub of old. Sensible tool watch built for everyday life.
