Rage-based transformations like this are always so much cooler than the other transformation scenes, in my opinion.

Trunks seriously lost everything and even went as far as to defy the laws of the universe to try and fix it. He fought a terrifying force in DBZ while also seeing the happy future he could never have, and then went back home to stop the threats on his own. In DBS it got even worse, and all he was blamed responsible just because he wanted to help save his planet. Trunks has shouldered way more than any other Dragon Ball character, and this transformation feels like a rage that's been building up his entire life.

Now that Super is over, I am 100% confident saying this was most emotional transformation in the entire series (and one of the best transformations of all time). This transformation truly meant something - it was caused primarily by pain and necessity.

Like nearly every other Saiyan transformation... Idk man I felt nearly nothing for anything in super. Maybe it's just me or the time in my life when I watched it, but Z still slaps so much harder, further, and faster than Super.

Love the way he got both blue and gold aura. Its like a combination of SSJ and SSB. Angry while remains calm.

This sends chills down my spine and make my eyes water. Best and most effective transformation...EVER!!!!!!!!

The one thing I love with the Japanese Version and Takeshi Kusao (Trunks voice actor) is the PAIN you can hear and feel in his transformation, from the moment he punches the ground to becoming ENRAGED.

I can't believe this is 4 years old now. I remember the summer it first debuted. Those were good times.

Keep in mind, that's because a lot of dbz's japanese voice direction was non-existent. They left a lot of decisions to someone with no experience as a voice director. The only reason Sub over Dub works here is because Future Trunks and Frieza both always had superb voice actors.

I come back to this every now and then just to boost myself up. Damn this scene is so powerful, easily one of the best of all the DB history. What a voice actor 🔥🔥

The music, the scene, the background story, the fight for survival that this Trunks has endured, this is 1 of my favourite scene's in DBS, its like Trunks is fedup with his own weakness and shatters his limits.

Very cool moment. His transformation is very similar to Broly from the films (both Super and DBZ)... The same eyes and the same behavior when losing a loved one, it is very noticeable and done well.

This scene and Vegeta's ssj blue Evolution transformation Hands down , chills guaranteed !

This is why trunks was always my favorite. When u hear him wheezing n breathing u knew he had enough n let it all out

I always find this transformation interesting due to how his body expands dramatically before sudden contacting in on itself. It looks like the upgraded super form Trunks acquired during the cell saga but without the detrimental muscle growth. Basically the full potential of the upgraded super form without any of the drawbacks. Or most at least, he seemed to still be a fair bit heavier then before with how the ground gave out under his footsteps.

The sub version of this scene is SOOO much better then dub and I am a huge Dub fan. The voice actor for sub trunks is outstanding, you can hear the pain and anger in his yell.

This is one of my favourite anime scenes ever. Just listening to his rage, i can feel it myself and think back of sad memories i felt just like Trunks. The feeling is undescribible

People like to hate on super and on this arc, but back then every week I was watching and waiting for the next episode. I was fucking hooked.

I thought it was because earthlings were capable of great potential! Just couldn't transform due to their biology. However humans can gain boosts in strength from emotions. So perhaps it's the human blood and saiyan blood working together to boost Trunks up another level. He needs more power so he pulls from his rage as a saiyan but also as a human!

This form is not even canon. It was just invented by toei, not by Akira. Also, there's no explanation for this transformation.

I was hoping he would have a 2 to 3 minute monologue about how he's always needed others to help him, with flashbacks of the androids and cell fueling his rage, and then he finally explodes. After that add this scene as well but I'll take this too!!

Trunks transformations are always very impactful. They give me chills every time. Against mechafrieza, against perfect cell, and here, and let's not forget, when he finds the dead body of gohan and becomes a ssj for the first time..

A transformation powered by RAGE. I would say that THIS is the true form of a Super Saiyan.

The ending ruined it all, unfortunately. I have to give the first place to the Cell/Android saga( I put them together just because one leads straight to the the other) because of its clean while intricate storyline, with many unpredictable events and an epic ending.And that's just a small portion of my thoughts on this Perfect(no pun intended) arc. The Namek/Freeza saga is also beautiful, every other arc in the series besides the Goku Black arc is miles below.

Bryce Alexis Super Saiyan 3 is something you achieve by training intensively. Not from rage.

Kind of like how super gave the saiyans their own unique transformations. Trunks has his rage, Vegeta has his umm i don't know Royal blue, Goku has his ultra instincts the Universe 6 Saiyans have hacks.

Best transformation ever!! Hand down.

Trunks had the best transformation of all Sayans, across all series and cinematic episodes. Nothing beats his first transformation from the cinematic version of seeing Gohan dead. This one is in second place. The pure essence of DB and Sayan transformation.

Not gonna lie to you fam I worked out to this scene multiple times, it's just so motivational especially what trunks has gone through and keeps on loosing and loosing against goku black even killing his mother to finally awaken the rage and unlock a new power. Powerful scene

people can say asspull, doesn't make sense, or whatever they want..... this scene and the transformation makes plenty of sense... an occasional fan wouldn't understand frfr... Trunks's story and what's he's been through every since DBZ.... the music makes this scene that much more powerful... By the way, the Japanese voice actor is incredible.... the labored breathing the screaming.... perfection

You really feel all of his pain at this moment, while him finding Gohan was definitely top tier this is amazing voice acting.

@@supesisfodder7427 Yah but I’m talking actual FACTUAL canon, not some side show. Toriyama had nothing to do with that form. Not even Toei’s director explained it at all since the day it was shown. It’s just rage for fan service. Heroes serves as the ONLY source of some kind of explanation for it, but even then that’s not even an official source of canon it’s literally just a game/promotional anime side show. So anything it does or tries to say isn’t canon. So until Toei comes out with an actual explanation then anything else is just head canon and speculation. Toriyama didn’t have anything to do with it either so there probably won’t ever be a legit explanation to that form other than it was fan service rage for the sake of giving us a good scene. Which they did, Can’t complain about how epic it was, but still there was and will be no explanation that’s REAL and not just head canon or some BS from DB Heroes

Zamasu is the best villain. He have a motive mora than just destroy everything. He has a plan more than just kill all his opponents. And he also managed piss off Goku, Vegeta and Trunks to make them all rage in one arc. Vegeto made a come back, and this time, it was another than Goku who jumped in to save the day. I know I know, the Cell saga, but still. ^_^

And that is the day that trunks became Hercules.
