New Trailer!

So I finally broke down and bought a new equipment hauling trailer to make my life easier. It will definitely open more possibilities when I want to utilize equipment in either location.

Way better trailer than the previous one Mike. 👍. Loading slightly off center to drivers side helps keep load level unless load is side heavy. Compensates for crown on road.

Is there a reason you blokes on that side of the world use a trailer with the detachable goose neck, as opposed to a standard goosneck trailer with ramps at the back? Guessing its got a lower C of G but is it cheaper or something. Just seems an over complicated arangement, and very long for the load space you get. Dont see those down under. Nice trailer though.

@@6by6by6I may not be a phd but I have sold farm equipment for my whole life as well as moving equipment for our dealership when time allows. I had XL build me a custom trailer to haul Lexion combines on so I know a little bit about this adventure. well at least you need beacons, signs, flag holders things trucks that just pull a hopper won’t need- All the farms I deal with make their nicest road tractor their lowboy truck. Unless Canada will let you have annual oversize permits for a specific trailer then you’re married to one truck anyways. all of my permits have my truck plate number or VIN on them and the trailer doesn’t matter. Maybe he just buys permits for every truck but that doesn’t sound cheap or smart. I guess it’s different for different regions most of our farms in the southeast use dump trailers or live floor trailers and all have PTO’s. All it takes is one time of being ready to hook the neck back up in the rain and the pull rope coming out or that little Honda bastard has dumped its gas in the oil to join team PTO.
