I remember when Irv Fisher started Astro Pneumatic back around 1977. He had three air tools to sell.A 1/2 inch impact,a 3/8th impact and an air ratchet! So great to see how they have grown! Someone please tell Steve I said helllo!

I'm a big fan of Astro's stuff. Innovative and useful and yet they're still affordable.

Astro makes some awesome tools. I have a number of their tools and the quality and fit for purpose is second to none. The test light with locking pliers is genius. I put a battery clamp on mine but that is even better. South main auto uses lots of Astro tools and he really uses them.

​@chekelley6861 To be fair, I was shown that trick 25 years ago by an old mechanic who got the idea from someone else years prior. 100 guys probably "invented" it at the exact same time 40 years ago 😂 It's just a mystery why it's taken any tool manufacturer this long to produce it.

*Shut up and take my money!* Over the next year Astro will be getting a good chunk of change from me. Nearly everything you showed is something I have either been looking for, wanting, or didn't know I needed. Those universal extension sockets are perfect since theres not much choice out there for this style. Also been looking for a set of the mid/deep swivel sockets. The weighted socket design, as mentioned, would be perfect for those really bad and rusted on lugnuts that were overtightened. I doubt I would be replacing my Mac air hammer for the .401 thor, but it looks like it might be a good option for my home set.

Chris sure sounds a lot like the ttc guy.

I'm on my third AP Nano socket wrench. Unfortunately the wire retaining ring in the wrench head isn't made of spring steel and just snapping a Nano socket into the wrench is likely to bend it or pop it out of the wrench and the sockets just fall out. I can't recommend that anyone buy into the Nano socket system until they update their design and fix that problem.

I second this! I have the Snap On set because it’s what I have access to and can get warrantied if needed. But I can do 99% of the work I do with semi deep sockets. I’m excited about the torque saver extensions and hopefully they will offer a semi deep version of them as well. Maybe @torquetestchannel can plant the bug in R&Ds ears! 🤞🏼

When those nano ratchets coming out or where can I find them?

Many thanks for the way kool new tool vids!!! Now i am goin to share something kool and new i ran into....snapon has released a 1/2 drive, 33mm, deep socket. We were horribly skeptical.....however in testing......semi trailer lug nuts, etc., torque 450 to 500, piloted,and any decent 18 volt 1/2 drive impact gun will remove and torque. We check the torque on all lugs trailer and tractor. Therefore we have eliminated a heavy inch drive impact gun, and yes we have been over torqueing, (we stil use inch drive but not as often) and dragging a heavy air hose around the shop. We feel this is way quicker. However one must remember to charge batteries.

I see at least 2 one their new tools I'm gonna go on a limb as say TTC designed them

Hand twins! Only explanation. Keep your face a secret if you must. The tool community still appreciates the honest testing (needs really these days). With or without a face ritualistic viewing of TTC at lunch and koon trucking after work will continue.

Thx Clay, I have watched your videos for some time now and am a subscriber now, glad you put me onto Astro tools, I am not a mechanic , i work in the heavy steel industry here in Canada and have done all my own auto maintenance for over 40 yrs, my uncle was an industrial arts teacher/WW2 tank mechanic also, i had good mentors, why do Vim tools sold in Canada come with a 25-30% mark up and i don't mean the exchange rate from US to CDN dollars and tried the Vim company email a number of times and have not gotten response back , would you know any reason why

Is it just me or does the Astro guy sound just like the guy from Torque Test Channel? Their voices are way to similar to be a coincidence.

Any update on the sale of the extra deep socket set? was on astro tools website and didn't see them offered.

Looking for the nano socket flex head ratchet for the 1/2 drive nano sockets. I have the 3/8 one and it has been great so far. Can't believe the difference in price on those long chrome sockets compared to the tool truck price. Looks like the had some of those special drill bits in the chuck of a Milwaukee drill!!!!

The only thing about the Astro version is I’m not sure if they are lifetime warranty on the bits. I buy them from Matco and just get the few sizes I need regularly since I already have a good drill bit set

The Astro rep said they'll get to you on any platform for warranty on tools. I've messaged on Facebook, Instagram and emailed them. Still haven't gotten a reply, it's a simple swivel socket replacement but the lack of response is a let down
