In your settings you can adjust your toner density too. If you're in toner save or an echo friendly mode it will not use very much toner. Increasing your DPI from 600 to 1200 will deposit more toner too
@bluelavaart
8 ай бұрын
That is an excellent suggestion. I didn't even think to look there. I also received some advice to print in CMYK even if it is black and white since that will deposit more toner. Thank you!

When I was in AP art working on a portfolio we used super glossy magazines, the more expensive kind with full photographs and slightly nicer paper- the higher the contrast the clearer the image also. Not sure why but paper that wasn’t glossy or was printed had a much harder time transferring and most often would have no image at all. It probably has something to do with the gloss vs ink areas being so different for the paint to stick to
@bluelavaart
8 ай бұрын
I think you are right. Excellent tips!
I’ve discovered another trick, if you will….every video I’ve ever watched said the original paper you’re transferring is ruined once it’s pulled up from the plate but that’s not necessarily true. I once had a magazine image I absolutely loved but I put too much paint down on my plate so nothing transferred. I refused to lose the image so I wiped the remaining paint off my plate & put the magazine page that was now covered in black paint back down on my plate & this time I got a perfect transfer!!! Ever since, whenever I’m transferring images I keep 2-3 plates out & once I lay the paint down on the first plate, apply the magazine page & pull it off, i take that same magazine page (without adding any more paint, only using the paint that is now on the page) & i rub it on at least 1 more plate, sometimes I can even get 3-4 transfers from that 1 magazine page. I’ve also done this with images I printed at staples so it works using other types of prints, not just those from magazine pages. 👍🏼

I think it looks amazing. I don't know much about Gelli plates but I know that there are "better" or "more proper" ways of doing this, but I think this has turned out much more stunning than any other Gelli plate designs I've seen, which usually end up giving the same result as any old patterned stamp you could get from someplace like Hobby Lobby. _This,_ on the other hand, looks like a hand-painted watercolor image with extremely precise ink word over top to me.

This is incredibly kind. I love to paint so I think that is why it has more of a painterly feel and less of a crafty feel to it.
