Unfortunately you can't use the Puretide chip on Torchlight as the FAQ means it can only be used on Battle Tactics "Rules that allow you to use a Stratagem even if another unit has been targeted by that Stratagem this phase or turn, but that do not specify the name of the Stratagem, can only be used to use BattleTactic Stratagems"

Ahhh no! I always think of it applying to modifying cost of strats but you're totally right

My battlesuit models will suffer horribly for my not using magnets, but after a bit of time breathing into a paper bag I think overall it's a good codex. (Still miffed that my hand-converted 3rd edition Crisis Commander is in Legends now... I'll have to hope my opponents will let me proxy it.) Nice to see the Kroot glow-up at last; still hoping, after 20 years, that we'll some day get some rules for Gue'vesa human auxiliaries.

The quality of your videos has steadily increased. I really appreciate all of the work you've put into this.

My favorite part about the new Tau codex is that we only got 2 new detachments and a subfaction det., that really should've been it's own faction or a white dwarf supplement. Not lazy at all GW. Thanks.

Completely off topic but curious if anyone knows what models Adrian uses for his Tau Tetras from Piper? I know it’s part of the Goby model but is it two joined together? Just very curious as I really like the design. Thanks for all the great content over the years!!! It’s been amazing, and yeah, the music is too much and too all over the place. SAID WITH LOVE!!!!

Thanks so much John! You're correct its two of them together, as one by itself wasnt quite the right silhouette. I cut off some of the bottom tubes and flattened the front a bit, and left off the fins to get as close as possible to the actual tetra

Seems a lot of people in the tau community feel VERY emotionally strongly about the Crisis Battlesuit changes. I get it, I understand, it is a very drastic change and it's healthy to be suspicious of GW's motives. God knows they've skrewed up plenty of times before. But once the dust settles and we actually play them on the tabletop, I think we'll see a Renaissance of new Tau players who'll actually prefer the new Crisis units. And our opponants will be happier to play with us because the dreaded 6 man Death Star blob is finally dead. Deathstar blobs just weren't fun to play with or against. See, a lotta people are mad that Crisis Suits won't get infinite variety and unlimited loadout combos any more ... ... ... but as sombody who's played Tau from literally the 1st day they were released in 2001, the idea of infinite variety and unlimited loadout combos 'sounds' cool in theory ... ... but it gets old really quick when you realise you made the wrong loadout choice mid-game and get absolutely tabled by your opponant. I've seen that happen way too many times over the last 20 years. I've known people who would've collected Tau and really enjoyed them, but their 1st experience was ruined by bad loadout choices. Plus the 'build-a-bear' Crisis unit was simply intimidating to a lot of new players from a list writing standpoint. I've lost count of the amount of times new players got choice paralysis/ felt overwhealmed looking at the vast list of options, and simply asked me to just make a choice for them. The app didn't help either. It made selecting the individual wargear for each individual Battlesuit a tedious nightmare! The majority of new players want to be guided toward the best builds. The rare mavericks who actually enjoyed navigating the unlimited freedom of the old Crisis suits and picking the best options all by themselves were few and far between. And even then, they all used their amazing powers of deduction to choose the exact same thing everyone else chose. I've been in this hobby for over 20 years. And in that time I've seen literally ever fellow tau player I know eventually gravitate toward the same few select builds that actually work - i.e. the ones that just so happen to be the ones GW are using for their new Crisis Suit units. Awesome sidenote - there's a reason GW are using names like 'sunforge' 'fireknife' and 'starscythe' for the new Crisis Suit units. There's a reason you'll see veteran Tau players like myself using terms like 'the deathrain loadout' and 'the Helios build'. Those names are iconic and much loved within the Tau community. Precisely because WE came up with those names! We, the Tau community of old! Go to the forums of the early 2000's, and you'll see the original Tau players exploring the wild west and testing lists and theory crafting and reporting to each other on wins and losses. And over time we came up with these exact same loadouts. They stood the test of time and remained viable throughout each edition, so we gave them cool names; names that GW officially cannonised in the lore during 5th and 6th edition. GW didn't choose these builds for you. We did. We the Tau community. We've spent the last 20 years playtesting these Crisis Suit builds. They are the best and they always will be. Finally new players don't have to make the ragged climb up the treacherous slopes of the mountain with their own bare hands. We built an escalator that short cuts the process for you. For me I'm just glad to see them take out CIB and Airburst as options for the Crisis when they aren't even in the kits.

Well said. There are definitely elements that get worse and we dont want to sugarcoat it, but it is what it is and its fun to think about how the game will change

It certainly is distracting. Too much volume drowns out some of the commentary

Mont'ka > Retaliation Cadre >> Kauyon > Kroot There. Basically Mont'ka. Retaliation Cadre may see some play. Kauyon sucks ... and will suck more when units are priced for an actually good detachment. Kroot Detachment has good rules, but awful datasheets. even when they come down it's just worse infantry guard.

Its straight into details, very difficult to understand what you are talking about. You are referring very specific knowledge expecting us to have. Its way too fast and all over the place at the same time. I dont understand what is happening or what Kayon is. You need to slow down and explain what you talk about first.

It’s our hobby, miniature is a art as sculptures. If corporates don’t like it and it’s a problem then maybe produce STL as a sale to get money. See OPR, GW (brits) are to archaic in their approach too modern miniature market.
