NEW SYMPTOMS & SIDE EFFECTS POST OCREVUS INFUSION- UPDATE / LIVING WITH RELAPSING MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

My positive and not so positive Ocrevus experience.
I'm lucky so far to have had a few good days. Unfortunately I'm still dealing with my old symptoms and possibly a couple of new ones. I'm living in a constant flare up. My multiple sclerosis is highly active and aggressive according to my neurologist so all I can do is hope that we can get my MS to a more stable state and by starting this treatment that I will be on for the upcoming 10 years if nothing changes... I've been told about the so called "crap gap" it makes me feel a bit nervous to know that I might start to feel worse again by the 5th month or so. If you have any experience with this please share with me inn the comments how you deal with it all and if you have any useful tips to share.
If you are like me and recently got you diagnosis then let this be your sign that you too can still enjoy life. I want to be a encouragement to you guys. Life is not over because we now have this incurable disease. It just means that we get to enjoy the little thing in life so much more. I send you all my love and strength.
Ever since getting my Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis living life to the fullest has become much more important to me. We never know what will happen tomorrow.
Thank you for being here and showing me so much love and sharing your stories with me.

Thank you for sharing , I am struggling and have had two infusions . Fatigue and back pain has been bad and my quality of life has gone downhill . I have gone from working and walking in my lunch breaks to staying home and feeling exhausted 😢 it’s been tough. I don’t want to get another infusion as l felt so much better before the drug .

I can certainly relate. I was given the DX of ppms ,shortly after doctors advised me to try some injections of something ,I found out later was NOT approved for use other than for rrms. I was at that time still working and the shots made me feel like I was close to death. I have since taken nothing but meds to help with pain for years now and unless I see some actual miracle drug appear, will continue to do so.🤔Hang in there and avoid having "The Farce be with you" 😜

I also was diagnosed fairly recently, just over 6 months ago, on my second dose of Rituximab for now (given once every 6 months). I had new activity on my 6 month scan after 6 months on the treatment. I do notice that after the second treatment I rebounded much faster, not nearly as exhausted and my ms symptoms have died waaaaay down. Hoping your MS calms down as the Ocrevus kicks in, it is annoying how slow these DMT's take to work, but grateful to have something to do to fight the MS instead of nothing. Sending you healing thoughts! Thanks for sharing your experience, I find watching others go through this helps me have more grace to deal with MS.

Thank you Laura for taking the time to comment! I feel the same, I wish I had someone to follow that share their every day life with MS. Someone to relate to I guess. You gives give me that when you share your stories with me though. I appreciate it very much. So did you start treatment directly after getting your diagnosis? How hav you been dealing with everything emotionally? (If you don’t mind me asking). I’ve find my ways of coping but sometimes it’s hard to stay positive. But routine is super important for me.

One month after part 2 of first dose I got shingles so bad I could barely walk. Tachy heart rate and 39.9 fever. I’ve never felt so awful and I was relatively stable before. I’m seriously considering stopping the treatment.

Do you have RRMS? I were diagnose with Primary Progressive MS first symptoms begin a year and a half ago at the age of 60 I'm in Ocrivus myself and is like another day to me, it doesn"t do anything but stop the progression o so is what dr"s say.

Yes I have according to my neurologist a “highly active and aggressive form of RRMS” before I started Ocrevus my attacks were about 5 months apart. Leaving me with active new lesions each time. But thank goodness for the fact that my last MRI was “clear” from any new lesions. 🙏🏼 So treatment is working so far🤞🏼

Are you able to switch to Copaxione? I'm still waiting to see, this Ocravus, will help me. I think they need to Wait for your stem cells, to grow.

Hated loosing an hour so the boss got the things DONE, so he didn't have to sorry as much. Still sucked having to go in early on Monday.

I know it’s hard. I find the recovery period after is longer each time but I have faith it’s helping some..🤞🏼 Keep trying to move your body. Exercise is the only thing that can help my symptoms somewhat. Sending you lots of love ❤️
