Nah, the PE-teacher just sees through the BS the kid is trying to pull. Yes, he probably got punched, but he tried milking it either to get the other boy into trouble or soften the blow to himself.

I believe detention should be different, instead of making them sit there for an hour wasting their life, make them clean a room or something. Legit I've likely spent 30 hours of my life in school spent forced in a room to do nothing, I'm not gaining anything, no one else is gaining anything, kids will leave detention and do the same things all over again like I did. It doesn't teach them anything. Cleaning a room makes them active, think about things and probably not want to do it again.

I agree. There were a lot of annoying naughty guys in my secondary school, they were given all the detentions in the world and they never changed because it didn't do anything for them. I never had a detention so I don't know what it was, but I'm pretty sure it was just sitting in a room for an hour doing nothing. And as you said, I think in detention the kid should have to do some kind of chore like cleaning, or working with a teacher to set things up. Like what George had to do after he smashed a window. And it changed him. That kind of thing would help the kids if it was done more often.
