Now that would be another What if story

Really hope they have branching "what ifs" stories, like an option for Goku to join Raditz, a way to beat Raditz so badly that he forgets who or where he is like in the older game and obviously this "what if" of Krillin partenering with Goku instead of Piccolo, with Roshi coming in at the end.

raditz is scared of nappa and vegeta. i think they should give him a redemption arc. Have gohans power level break his gauge and he realizes, maybe they can win. Then, instead of piccolo, he trains gohan to beat vegeta and napa. He loses to vegeta and napa (goku still handles it) but when the frieza fight comes along, instead of krillin dying, gohan does. Now him and goku become super saiyin and absolutley demolish frieza.

Seeing Goku get hit by the special beam cannon but from his POV was something I never expected to see.

So these are the games strengths: Sparking Zero is best at Gameplay, Kakarot is best at Story Mode Cutscenes, and Xenoverse is best at What-If Storytelling & Cutscenes.

Kind of a let down. Had Sparking Zero aced the Story mode cutscenes to be at least on par with Storymode of Kakarot or Xenoverse, they would have easily become the greatest Dragon Ball Z game of all time. Hands down. Now my predictor rating for the game is 7.5. It’s good, but not great.

They should just make a full dragon ball telltale with dragon ball gameplay. Like each action can lead to different outcomes from the overall story. Something with a lot of story branches, certain characters die or live and the story still continues. It would be great too if the story changes depending if you win or lose the game.

What if goku didnt die from the heart virus What if cell turned good What if gohan defeated buu What if future gohan went to the past What if vegeta turned ssj first What if buu was in the tournament of power What if bardock won against frieza What if vegito fought broly What if gogeta fought buu What if gogeta fought zamasu What if zamasu fought goku black What if future gohan fought goku black What if piccolo got his potential unlocked earlier What if goku turned ssj2 instead of gohan What if beerus fought zamasu What if vegito fought jiren What if gogeta fought jiren What if goku got ultra instinct in the goku black saga What if cell fought dabura What if goku helped future gohan What if vegeta fought kefla What if gotenks defeated buu What if vegeta fought beerus What if vegeta learned the kaioken, instant transmission and the spirit bomb What if goku got controlled by babidi and turned majin Those are just some of my ideas for what ifs which I plan to make in the custom battle mode in case they arent in the what if part of the story mode (and also if they are possible)

Kinda wanna see a thing where you can say yes or no to things that would change the plot like. What if Goku did join Raditz?

A. How does Krillin have Destruco Disc? He doesn’t have that yet. B. So Piccolo comes in anyway? What’s the point then?

They should do a what if for Krillin where he successfully hits his Destructo Disc on everyone.

I was almost expecting Goku to do like what he did in piccolo saga where krillin would charge up the destruct disk to kill both goku (against his will) and raditz. Although i guess that would make it too similar to the original fight

I love the whole what if Mode looks cool the graphics of the characters are really nice the characters the eyes blink the hair moves from the wind same with the environment the grass moves the ocean waves moving the colors really pop makes the world look real the combat looks freaking awesome and another cool thing the powering up also looks really cool the clothing will move and there is dust blowing everywhere just like in the anime

i thought i had a stroke with Piccolo's subs for a sec

that mouth movement from raditz lol

Funny how when Goku and Piccolo are talking everybody else is frozen stiff 😅

I think it’s dumb how the characters are talking and you still hear their grunts as well at the same time

So do these things continue into what if stories with more different dialogue and character still frames or is it just a few different fights here or there

@@xwulfd right that’s what makes me think it’s just a little scene with a fight and maybe a narrated ending showing what would have been if the story continued. The whole thing sounds very underwhelming. Especially if a ton of characters are locked behind a paywall. I mean most of these what if scenarios sound about as deep as custom matchmaking in the other games

i guess this game will focus on better combat vs story comparing to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot since that game had long and amazing cut scenes, from what iv seen in this some of the dialgue is just heard thru battling instead of longer cut scenes which is disapointing

Those are in game animation and mostly likely to be used in the what if creator so I believe theres no need

Just watched story mode cutscenes for kakarot. They were high level. These ones are mediocre and despicable. Even Budokai was more entertaining.

They did do something like that in Budokai tenkaichi 2. You have to beat Raditz with piccolo in the first match.

I feel like Raditz is underpowered in these games. In the show, they were barely hanging on against him. Gohan seems to have done the most damage til he got special beamed.

@@OkeyDokeySmokey I doubt the others would get involved if Goku were alive. He'd see the threat and face off against both on his own. He would easily beat the Saibamen like Piccolo did. He'd should be able to take Nappa out since he'd probably be just above Piccolo's power level of 3500. Then after that he'd be struggling against Vegeta who had a power level of 18,000. I don't look for Vegeta to be merciful either and his first Galick Gun would take Goku out without issue

I don’t like the cutscenes. To many summary slides. Kakarot is still better for cutscenes. How could they underestimate the value of gorgeous story mode cutscenes. The original tenkachi series was lacking in them. Now this. That means that Kakarot, and even Xenoverse have better cutscenes.

The game isn't out yet. Of course they don't. Voice Acting is one of the last things you do in a video game and doubly so for a dub of a game.

@@jerm70 I understand. It’s entirely fair that an early build would want to focus on more important things, before tackling the nitty-gritty. It’s just that it hurts my soul seeing subtitles not match up, as someone who often needs subtitles to catch everything that’s said.

The story mode is kind of lazy but what if story are nice

Thats kinda the point, the sparking series is about recreating fights or making your own in the best way possible, not retelling the story

This what if story with raditz is the WORST, in my opinion. i wanted to see a what if with goku and gohan leaving the planet with raditz. would've been WAY cooler than yet ANOTHER story with raditz dying.

Goku goes with Piccolo in the original. This (the last few minutes) Goku opts to go alone and Krillin goes with him. Which apparently this what if ends with Roshi coming in with his Lighting Suprise and Piccolo shows up to kill Raditz with the Special Beam Cannon

It’s just audio playing over the gameplay. Imagine if they point real effort into the cutscenes: this game would be so gorgeous, no one would ever try to go back to kakarot to watch the story in a new dimension.

They're already pumping out dlc like a xenoverse game with a season pass and 3 dlc packs for it they can afford a voice actor for narration. Expecting less just shows you have no respect for the quality of games you buy
