Neodymium rare earth magnets; I believe those particular ones were either from GF9 or The Army Painter 🤔

I’m curious about what ppl think, I’ve seen criticism of lack of spare parts/pose ability in GW’s new kits. I have some really dated plastic space marine kits, extra bolters you could chop the handles off of to slap on the hands, purity seals all separate, etc. I think a lot of their great model designs are only possible because they’ve limited the modularity..legs for example. Do you like the way the new way the models are being made or miss static legs but freedom to place everything else?

I agree with this completely when it comes to everything released for Space Marines since 8th edition. There are some much better poses but the modularity cost is really high, and it makes the models feel more like collectibles and less like "your dudes"

Thank you, an excellent video as usual. One thing I'm confused is the rules attached to weapon options. The veteran has master-crafted bolt rifle, but the captain can have master-crafted *bolter* (a change from the index.) Do these actually have different rules? Also, it is weird, as existing captain models obviously have a bolt rifle, not a bolter...

Master-crafted bolter: 24" 2 shots BS2+ S4 AP-1 2D Master-crafted bolt rifle: 24" 2 shots Rapid Fire 1, Devastating Wounds, BS2+ S4 AP-1 2D The "master-crafted bolt rifle" is indeed different in profile from the "master-crafted bolter". It's kind of in between a sternguard bolt rifle and a master-crafted bolter - it has devastating wounds and Rapid Fire 1 like a sternguard bolt rifle and 2D like a master-crafted bolter, but no Assault or Heavy ability that a Sternguard bolt rifle has. As for calling it a master-crafted bolter, my guess is that one of the reasons is the Captain's datasheet has been combined with the Primaris Captain datasheet.

I know you already assembled the company heroes, but do you think, that you could assemble the company champion with the cape of the ancient? Their poses look very alike.

On the terminators, could you compare them next to each other with the leviathan? I was curious of the difference between them other than weapon load out

One of the differences I've noticed is that the Leviathan Terminators all have kneepads other than the Sergeant, whereas the new box has just two Terminators with kneepads, and the rest have a shin plate that goes all the way up the shin to the top of the knee. Kind of like Mk VI power armour or the Primaris Sword Brethren models.

Looking for advice please. I want to run a homebrew Rohue Trader/Space Hulk game with the players choosing marines from whatever Chapter they prefer and with whatever SM gear they want. What would be the best kits to get, in your opinion. Thanks.

Ooh, fun! If it's more RPG then maybe the Space Marine half of Leviathan would be helpful simply that there is such a variety of different Space Marine types in there: those in Terminator armour, those with bolt rifles, those with flamers and captain and librarian and apothecary etc. Or if you were looking for them to be a kill team more than a hodge podge of different types, then any 10 man kit or 5 man kit with lots of extra options like Intercessors or this new Sternguard kit since any arm can basically fit on any body. Possibly a chapter upgrade kit to get extra weapon choices and heads and shoulder plates without needing to get full extra kits 🤔🤔🤔 All depends on what kind of marine you'd like them to field!

I was gonna buy the Chaplain along with a box of Terminators, but since he was literally three times the price of a single terminator, I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger. I rarely buy character models. The value for money is just not there. Five 2-inch figurines for fifty bucks? Fine. $10 each. But one guy for $30? PASS. I'll just kitbash one.
