Sophie in this Task had me crying from laughing. Haven't laughed that much since the season with John and Fearn.

I expected slightly more from Nick. As Mr Swallow, he does memory tasks, I thought his logical mind might shine. Anyway, it looks a good bunch and I'm looking forward to the next episode. Cruel of Alex after not helping Sophie out of the water to say "oh thats just a scarecrow WEARING WADERS"😂

Every wet limb doubled your time (so Nick’s time was quadrupled because both his legs were wet). I suspect that in the adrenaline rush at the end, Sophie misremembered/misinterpreted the task. [If she’d waded into the water and looped the ring around Gary’s head as he floated past, she would have scored at least one point instead of zero.] If you could put the hip-waders on fast enough and keep both arms above the water, you *could* stroll out to the raft and not incur a time penalty. Sadly, no one thought to try that. :-)

I am intrigued to see Mr Swallow made up to look like Dave Vanian’s (The Damned) 1970s look! Had to take a second look. Love it!

try as I might I just don't find Nick Mohammed funny hopefully over the season he will grow on me like Rhod Gilbert, I was never a fan of his but he became one of my favorite taskmaster contestants

This series attempts to break in the USA mainstream TV. (There was an American version of TM, that did not survive the first series, even with Alex reprising his role as the assistant.) Greg and Alex went on late night TV as guests, the episode was premiered in a showcase format with Q&A, the trailer/teaser was cut in the American way (loud, slapstick-y). Yes, I can imagine they use the same canned laughter as in the American sitcoms, so the American audience will find it familiar (subconsciously).

I didn't like at least half of the previous 16 series' line-up. I never ended not liking them altogether. Every now and then there's a cheeky, cheater in the contestants who I don't want to see again ever, but the majority turns out acceptable, humorous, adorable, r just simply good humans. Bottom line, give them a chance. p.s. The whole premiere and the fuss around it (Greg and Alex on late night TV show, American premiere, no full episode on KZread as it was for S14-16, the editing of the trailer) tells that they are targeting American audience with this series, and it stands for the line-up. For example Nick the "vampire" is from an US-British comedy, so not unknown for them. maybe that's why these 5 feels off for you.

She didn't complete the task. Nick wandered into the water, but once he was in, he was actually pretty smart, and at that point it was the only way to finish the task. Sophie completely failed in the best way possible

I do-no (in Chris Ramsey's accent). I found the previous opener with the giant rubber duck and that team task with the wires utter boring. Only the studio task made me laugh ("Alex, you....!")

I sort of know what you mean. But I'm not familiar with any of the contestants yet so it actually brought me in to view to see how it went. A hoop in a tree and all four limbs wet, then the waders behind her? It's not a promising start but was highly entertaining 😂❤

@@GT_Walker Nonono.... "Find the 10 ducks" (plus the one Judy found) is the best ever season opener task. Why don't we complain about the full episode not being available. In s15/s16 the full episode was up one day after the TV premiere.

So it is easier to throw a hoop from three foot,rather than twelve?Why not give them the same task?Some in the middle and some on the side is stupid.

Not sure what you're getting at it, they all had the same task. The dinghy started from exactly the same place each time, it was the contestants themselves who chose where to throw from. They didn't show the dinghy doing the first bit every time because it would be boring.
