What people like this Sheikh are doing is simply choosing not to address this fitnah, then claiming that this is to avoid creating fitnah. All that leads to is average, unsuspecting Muslims continuing to think that deviants like Yaqeen are valid sources to take knowledge from. This is not the way of our righteous predecessors; they clarified the truth regarding false beliefs and methodologies and those who called and subscribed to them.

It’s not outlandish i would say, scholars do make mistakes in their fatwas, and so forth, but a mistake like This is unheard off. The video shows Omar doing these rituals with those degenerates. I personally hold the opinion that if you go to a place like that, where you know that they are going to cause fitna to the community then it should be haram to go there to begin with. Ik you people may say that he did it for the sake of dawah, he wanted to preach islam and so forth, but this is as i see it equivalent to someone going into a bar to stop people from drinking just to buy a drink himself. It’s better and purer that you go to a tranquil place to deliver the message of Islam.

I respect Dr Omar Suleiman for coming out, clarifying and apologizing online. The brother has a right over the ones who keep calling him out on it when he publicly repented. Be balanced my brothers. Nobody is in infallible. There are two extremes that backup one personality all of the time no matter what. This is not from the Sunnah and this is dangerous. No matter what side you’re on.

I don't buy it, to be honest. Omar and Yaqeen were pushing LBGT support when it was popular to do so, and now that muslims see the LGBT for what they are so it is popular to stand against them. I just checked Yaqeen's website and Jonathan Brown is still listed as associate editor. (JB is the one who supports the right for gay people to marry and to insult the prophet, peace be upon him). The mistakes Omar made are not simple mistakes but rather major and very problematic, he put himself in those positions and continued to do so. He also continues to associate himself with very problematic people, and giving them legitimacy by proxy. I think if he's honest he would come out and apologize, clearly clarify the mistakes so people know, disassociate himself from the problematic organizations and people he's been involved with, and stops himself from being an 'imam' since he's clearly no fit for good judgment.

I love you sheikh for the sake of Allah. May Allah bless you and all tour team

sometimes, things like disagreements happen between our sheikhs, but lets look on the bright side of things..which is they come together to discuss/dialogue. this is good a good thing that it can bring them closer. to understand the struggle and from there they can work together and become stronger as one ummah. BUT, they need to be honest to each other.

Omar Suleiman deserved the criticism he got. I don’t mean to be harsh, but he made a grave error in being naive enough to agree to participate in that protest rally without first making his participation conditional upon certain terms. Personally, I have absolutely no truck with the LGBTQ crowd whatsoever. They are not our allies. And we don’t need them by our side on anything at all. Suleiman should have made it clear at the outset just how far and the Muslims were willing and able to go - and not beyond that. Rainbow flags and all that nonsense made for a terrible spectacle. I appreciate the strains that Muslims living in the West have to confront and navigate through. But truth is paramount and ambiguity on such matters is unwarranted and unhelpful in the long term.

We should unite upon the truth. Ofc we want good for our brothers and sisters, but for your own good don’t take from not reliable sources. Shaykh ‘Uthman acknowledges the amount of people loving the yaqeen institute so he is trying his best to get things solved with them so the people also get an understanding on certain matters. Because sadly a part of their followers only takes from them and won’t take an explanation from anyone else. So i guess shaykh doesnt believe there to be more benefit than harm for their followers if he starts warning against them. But don’t take this as an approval from him to take from them. In reality our iman is the most valuable thing we have, we have to be careful where we take information from.

@@riddikulus1432 oh okay. For me, i will tell them first (whisper) to stop it, explain their wrongdoing and why it is wrong, and ask them to apologize by themselves in front of public. That way, my parents will be more open to correction, not defensive, maintaining my parents self-esteem and pride, I can also keep our relationship, and there will be no fitnah if they are willing to apologize in public. That way, I have a higher chance solving the same problem compared to your approach. If my parents still won't apologize. Then in front of public, I will 'apologize' first on behalf of them, and correct them in these issues in public While what you mention is focusing on doing our responsibility only, without thinking what will we sacrifice in the way (our relation with parents, our chance to correct them later on, our chance to maintain their opennes to us so we can still influence them in the future). While my approach is focusing on how to best achieve the results while still doing my responsibility as muslim. Same problem, same responsibility, different approach, different results. If we can be more kind to our parents, then why cant we be kind also to our brother in faith My advice to you brother and to myself, please not only learn ilm, but also adab and know-how

unity in Islam is only upon the Quran and sunnah with the understanding of the salaf as saliheen. insha’Allah we can unite on mutual issues affecting the ummah, even with christians and other non-muslims, but without ever compromising on Islam!

Sometimes I may not understand a concept immediately, but as life goes on you will be put through trials and if you do take heed with god, and thrive for the truth, in the end you will understand. The Quran is for those that think, not who follow blindly. For those who try to understand. If you are referring to people, that seek very deviating interpretations, I condemn that as well. Surah 3, Verse 7 tells us that those who deviated seek to follow their false interpretations.

It is fine to advise in private, but the ruling must be made apparent for the masses. Distancing yourself from an action or opinion does not mean you have distanced yourself from your brother, rather the action or opinion. If it is clear that certain individuals have been advocating extremely harmfull ideas, it is obligatory to warn of these ideas and consequent actions. Neglecting such would be failure. But it should come as no surprise. Those who promote 'modernizing' Islam and those who defend the implementation of secularism in the Muslim world are natural allies.

Yaqeen institute is amazing and dr Suleiman is an amazing human being who really know to draw you to the truth and inspired me. No human is perfect.

It’s not about that the prophet sws said you enjoin the good and forbid the evil . The brother was openly committing shirk . This is not Christianity we advise our brothers in private when it’s done in private . If don’t publicly we advise publicly. Learn your deen .

It’s very difficult to publicly apologise when you’ve done something wrong let alone when 100s of thousands of your brothers and sisters are in your neck, it took courage from Omar to do the right thing and I ask Allah to reward him and to keep him firm on the deen we live in trying times, also may Allah reward sheikh Uthman for not causing fitnah and giving credit this is the difference between a sincere brother who will criticise when there’s a issue and wants good and someone stirring up drama for attention

It doesn't take courage to apologize wth are you smoking??? So if a murderer comes out and confesses to murder should he now be taken as brave and courageous??? He did something wrong he knew what he did was wrong and even then it took all that pressure for him to publicly apologize. If he was a man of honor he would've left that protest after seeing a lesbian priestess and pride flags there. But he again got "pressured". And even if it was a BLM rally we aren't here to play politics BLM has been known to have people that loot and burn vehicles so why even go with a controversial group. Muslims don't need support from political groups that's the thinking of people with weak Iman if you truly believed in Allah you could take on everyone alone as Allah would be with you.

He was there and it was his responsibility to protect the women in that March These things has a high emotional vibe and it's easy to fall into the trap of Participation

The whole idea of da'wah is spreading firmness of the deen and uniting upon that. The sheikh wants unity because there are Yaqeen fanboys who don't know any better and need da'wah. Not having that conversation will close the pathways to that da'wah. And there was quite a clash in Texas when sheikh was invited to Texas for an AIM conference caused by the dawah mafia. Sorting out these issues will open up the hearts of many others to the truth.

The title of this video should be: a random muslim giving his trivial opinion about Omar Suleiman to Othman ibn Farook without knowledge. I am very upset because in this clip the interlocutor took advantage of every second to defend Omar Suleiman and to invalidate and belittle the critics against him. He even tried to make brother Uthman retract his previous statements about Suleiman and Yaqeen!!! Meanwhile, brother Uthman was like :actually he did this and that but I don't want to talk about him, I spoke with him privately....wow -_-

May be brother Uthman should have talked to brother Sulaiman first in private before coming out in public ( no pun intended). That would have avoided any controversies because Brother Uthman knew exactly his position and took action if warranted. Seems like he did pursue the private talk after the fact.

May Allah protect Uthman from the people that try to hurt him. The interviewer was very biased.

I don't agree with the initial statement defending Omar Suleiman just because he guided him back to Islam. I know and I agree that he is an eloquent speaker and in many videos I have watched of him, he was teaching and explaining Aqida and the prophet seerah correctly, I'll give him that. However, the big issue here is that he is very influential and many young Muslims in the West seem to follow and trust him. Thus, he has a an even bigger responsibility because whatever he says or does would appear as if that is the Islamic stance and he would lead people astray. Just because he helped you get back to Islam does not mean you have to take him as the ultimate authority in Islam and defend him when he does and say wrong things. I really hope the institute and its members would stop with their western pleasing mindset and follow the teachings of Islam and make no compromises about it

There are plenty of sincere scholars whom you can learn the authentic Deen from. As the Ibn siriin said, that this knowledge [islam] is your religion, your creed so be careful of whom you take your knowledge from. As expected from Uthman ibn Farooq. Since his deviance from the manhaj of the salaf became clear, he has only gone downhill. Here he is pretty much retracting his statement about Omar Suleiman who is the president of Yaqeen, the same institute that publishes work from deviants like Jonathan Brown, who said that he fully supports the right to insult Rasool Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم . And Jonathan Brown is still part of Yaqeen's team and his profile is on their website. "For the sake of unity" is the same ikhwani excuse that everyone uses to unite and sit with the deviants. We will unite InShaAllah, but only upon the haqq, upon the manhaj of the salaf, not upon ambiguity and misguidance.

Why doesn't yaqeen institute talk ever about shirk and Biddah? The channel is presenting only half deen to people. You will find them talking about virtues, stories, akhlaq etc but never I have seen them talking against Shirk and Biddah. That's very problematic. Wallahi I see them as the munafiqeen of our times

As someone watching this drama unfold from the Southern tip of the African Continent I have to call out Uthman out here. Firstly in Islam there will always be disagreements and we can agree to disagree with honour and dignity. He does not display any in his disparaging of the Yaqeen Institute. With the worldwide onslaught against Islam Muslim scholars should unite and encourage each other instead of creating fitna and in the same breath saying they are not.
