That's an awesome gift to get. The servo is almost always the first thing I change on my trucks. ✌🚙

Awesome! I appreciate that! Dang sorry about no link, it’s added now, thanks for pointing that out. It looks like they have a $10 off coupon going right now as well so you can get one for $95 (Code: Jan1023). Thanks for watching!

Thank you for putting this together! Do you know if you need to have the BEC?

Your welcome! I’m running a Hobbywing 1080 which has a built in BEC. You don’t necessarily HAVE to have the BEC but definitely run the risk of screwing up your electronics or having inconsistent power to your servo. I would recommend just upgrading to the Hobbywing 1080 as it is the same price as the Traxxas esc and also gives you a bunch more programmability. Hope that helps!

@@3DudesRC I have the 2-in-1 2300 kv hobby wing and I absolutely love it. Thanks for the advice it looks like I don’t need the BEC.i couldn’t do it either way since I have the Traxxas receiver which I believe is capped at 6.0 volts. If I wanted to supply more power, I’d have to get it directly from the battery.

@@imghaniff I've been running mine on 7.4 volts for over a year now and no issues with the traxxas receiver. So I think you should be good if you just plug in ur program card and up the BEC to 7.4v.

I can’t get my trx4 45kg upgrade servo to be straight. When I turn the wheels they stay turned and don’t line up. And when ever I put my foot beside the wheels and tried to turn the wheels but they didn’t move, but once I picked it up the wheels moved and then when I put the truck back down they don’t move, the servo makes the noise as if it’s turning but doesn’t. And then the wheels are just side to side and not lined up. Do you know how to fix that?

Have you checked your servo horn is stripped out? If its not stripped, then take off the servo horn, set the steering trim to 0, and then put the horn back on. Hopefully the helps you out! Let me know if it doesn't, I'll try my best to help you troubleshoot. Thanks for watching!
So will I need anything else changing my servo. You said you were running it at 7.4. How would you change that?

Do you have the hobbywing 1080? If you do then, you just plug in the program card and you can change the BEC voltage to 7.4v.
Nice truck. That reefs servo is just a rebranded AGFRC servo just like all their servos.

Thanks! Yeah it seemed like just about every brand of servo was just a rebrand of something else. I had heard good things about reefs so I went with them.
Dont you need a bec to have more amps?
