What i normally do is download a bunch of hulls then basically mismatch them to make one or for reference. Some people can look at a picture and create it but if you cant i recommend just downloading hulls for reference. I can draw boat blueprints on paper but not on stormworks lol. This game certainly takes time but to me its not wasted time. This is one of the first games where I feel more involved and I actually am eager to learn

I can't design a ship for the life of me in a game. I can barely design one in my mind. But give me a pile of Legos and I'll build something. No blueprints or anything. Cannot recreate the Lego model in a game. Tried it once, kinda succeeded, but realized I needed to rework my size calculation. Instead of a reliable, fast, low profile ship, I got a slow, underpowered, bulky mess. I think the weapons I designed for it worked pretty well but I had to rework the frame design to supply somewhat competent power

I think you should add the propeller to flip the boat if it were to capsize just like your other search and rescue boat. You would hate when your being rescued in a big storm with large waves and your rescue boat capsizes.

Funny Story, I was playing today in Stormworks and a shark capsized my ship while I was trying to rescue the AI. We were probably two or three kilometers from the nearest island and their boat was on fire. Long Story short, non of us survived.

Its fun, though the main issue I'm having is the time it takes to get to missions lol, I dont have much time to dedicate to gaming and taking 15-30mins to get somewhere is rough but, I dont like to teleport or cheat though. Maybe Im just having bad luck with mission spawns. I hope they add more settings eventually for such things.

I'm going to use this tutorial to make a new boat too!

You can crtl click blocks to select them, kind of like an eyedrop tool. You can also shift click blocks in selection mode to extend the area, instead of using resize. I figure you already know this, but I don't think I've seen you do it yet so I thought I'd say something.

Those Triangle pieces are so hard to place...

Tip for anybody new: a character is seven blocks tall, gives you a good sense of scale. If this still doesnt work, place a door on your boat out of the way and delete it later. This really helps make sure you dont build a boat that's too small thinking it will be big.

bro it took me like 8 hours to build the front of the hull and it looks crap and now i see how easy you can actually do it i sculped it out of normal blocks and than tried to add wedges and this takes 5 min WTF THX

If you really want this, enable: editable vehicles in the mission editor, then boom you got the boat

Its a nice design however it sits too deep in the water. It resembles more of a tug boat than an ocean cruiser. Look up kingfisher ocean boats. Looks similar to your build. Good job 👍🏼

It’s only the first episode and as mentioned balancing will happen at a later stage. It’s easy to make it sit higher. Glad your enjoying the series though.

Could you maybe try doing a Multiplayer survival series? Preferably with Stealth17 Gaming?

stromworks is so amazing i also play but its sooo amazing like in only 4 min the hull is ready in minecraft it will take like 30 min to complete you could a also put like more than 1,000 blocks in a second.

Okay so I don't get this, I built pretty much the same as you, couple differences, I checked everything, and EVERYTHING is symmetrical, but it keeps flipping to the right? Is that normal? Like is that going to get fixed in a later episode or have I done something wrong?

Guess what i did wiht your reccue service heli I know how to out-trick the system and rescue the rescue service LOL 1. Call in the heli and stand on it's railing 2. Jump up and fold the rotor 3. Watch the heli fall down and sink 4. Get a skycrane helicopter 5. Out-trick the system and rescue the rescue service

For some reason the upper part of the bow which i copy pasted just falls off when pushed and on rough waves

Never mind I found a way to rotate the object in the workbench

I 👍 the rescue service but this game is laging every time I spown a Boat BUT my PC is running with 100%! Stormworks was my dream 5 jeas long and now I have it but it doesn't work. that's the lesson to wish for nothing☹️🙁😥😞

Looks like we are in a similar boat. I play at the absolute minimum settings, this includes resolution.
