Many of us have had issues with drugs, alcohol, depression, any kind of mental illness. But that's not what I want to focus on. I want to focus on the positive in my life. It can be therapuetic to talk about it, but not as much as his tracks do. Again, these are just the majority i've listened to. They have given me no reason to listen to anything else of his.

@@a42nut1inct thats you but not everyone for me those types of songs remind me of what I go through and that someone else does to and they are fighting as well to overcome it, a topic about depression doesn't have to make you feel depressed its all about how you let your mind perceive it. I don't need to lie to myself about how I feel mentally by clouding it with hapoy topics 24/7 I find it better to acknowledge that I feel like this and grow from it. And a huge part of that is accepting those thoughts and feelings aren't just something I'm going through and that personally helps me. But different taste for everyone. I feel like to many people are scared to go that deep into their psyche as well for they fear that it may awaken some things they've tried thier best to hide away and pretend isn't real. I can appreciate the full spectrum of life, kinda like how Chester Bennington from linkin park said he's experienced everything and its made him a better person towards other that he has and that its needed to grow and learn to remind ourselves of these things to be more compassionate towards these problems. Mental illness goes father then situational depression or addiction, it can be chemical or life long, i suffer from severe manic depression, severe anxiety, OCD and have paranoid schizophrenic tendencies, alot is probably from a very traumatic childhood wity my father, NF is an artist I can almost 100% relate with and I feel like my mental health is similar to his.

Hopsin looks so young and innocent and then his songs are so deep, meaningful and kind of sad

Hopsin, NF, and Em should be in one track together

For me it's about the type of wave when your talking about best ever. Arguably the best pen, most sold, influenced hip-hop culture entering the mainstream, absolutely Em. Could argue the top spot. You could also argue Pac for different reasons. He envoked emotion to anyone who has lived that life and everyone who thinks they wanted to. Then there's Biggie, Nas, Jay or Black Thought. You could argue for any of them bc of depth of Storytelling. What about Andre or Kool G Rap or Rakem or Cole? The point is Hip-hop hits in a lot of different levels.

I get tired when people say 8 miles is about rap or battle rap cuz it’s not. There’s like 3-4 battles max. It’s about A dude struggling in and he battles, but he also goes through baby mama drama, home drama, rivalry- it’s really A drama where A dude is tryna get a record deal. The battling for a record deal. Of course the battles are cool and the music is cool, but there’s rarely battle rap. The movie most on battle rap now is “Bodied” where it’s mostly about actual battle rap.

That being said he is no where near being the GOAT. There are alot of artist that their body of work in hip hop has not only crazy pen game but deep lyrical meaning and insane layering and context.
