This is the slow erosion that had been taking place for decades of government doing less for the ppl and more for itself. And I'm sure all that Chinese money that has been thrown around to buy off politicians and American company's and steal our manufacturing capability just pushed it that much faster. I didn't vote for Trump in 2016 (because I generally don't vote) and I kind of thought he was a clown but he was the first president to actually call out China and that was big for me cause every other president gave them a pass. And, even though he has a narcissistic blustery personality that, I will admit, isn't ideal for a world leader his economy did well. And at the end of the day I just want lower cost of living, cheaper gas and the ability to speak my mind. I was able to have all those things under Trump. Biden has definitely raised inflation in a hurry and like Bill pointed out in the video the Democtatic party seems to have lost its collective mind.

Bill Maher hits *half* of the nail right on the head when summing up the political mess we’re in right now. While "It’s not me who’s changed, it’s the Left” is true, and some far left bandwagons are harmful and need to be reigned in, at the same time "It’s not me who’s changed, it’s the Right” is *far* more true. Traditional Reagan Republicans are being drummed out of the party by a cult of personality that openly feeds on and encourages violence, often in service of racism, even against our constitutional democracy itself. That isn't happening to the other party. There are no modern-day equivalents of the Black Panthers or Weather Underground. Whats happening now to the right is *much* more extreme than anything currently happening to the left.

Until this week when I've been watching Bill Mayer again it's been such a fucking relief. I honestly thought that literally every person had lost their minds, I've been in a waking hell for 4 years like I woke up in a different universe where down is up and up is down. Man if you see this comment Bill,I just want you to know how grateful I am that you're still you. It means the most.

Actually, there's a long tradition of comedians telling the truth; i.e. pointing out the hypocrisy of the authorities. Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, others. Shakespeare used this technique, where the jester was the only one allowed to speak his mind to the king.

The re segregation votes in california. The complete hollowing out of the countries morals. The advocation of the death of all men. The avocation of transgender competing against women to their own detriment. The vote for things that "FEEL" right without any consideration of what is factual. The complete destruction of family court being anything near equal. The attacks on anything that would assist a man with his problems. yup, its all because of a plastic potato that allowing a bunch of female bombers to get their way was bad.

Bill is among the most logically consistent figures who is apart of the mainstream but not a product of the mainstream like the overwhelming majority of his professional colleagues. His lifestyle choices aside, he has real integrity and doesn’t need to get affirmation from joining whatever the cool cause of the day so happens to be. He’s had the same general messages since his Politically Incorrect days but people who are coming of age now expect him to not hold those views just because their favorite party and approach to ideas is on the line now.

And he is absolutely the most sane Democrat I have listened to in a long time. I disagree with him on many issues, but I can respect his position. At least there is hope in working together with those that are in this mindset.

You should be open to all considerations of any issue no matter what and no matter when. Politics, religion (or the lack thereof), opinions, charisma of the presenters et cetera should not have ANY weight on this. The only thing that should matter is the matter in question. Of course we are all human so it's not that easy, but that is the goal.

@@jojoe4093 Thank You for asking, Jo Joe. I served in the U.S. Army, 505th PIR 82nd Airborne Division. I was also Ranger Qualified. I served in Vietnam (mostly Phu Bai which is in close proximity to Vietnam's ancient Capitol of Hue) I came out as an E6 (Staff Sergeant). My unit worked quite a bit with the U.S. Marine Corps who were in control of Hue, but had a hell of an engagement with the NVA. In the end, the Corps kicked butt and resumed its control of Hue. We provided back-up when and where the Corps needed it. Great bunch of warriors, needless to say. Again, I thank You for Your interest.

He made some good points, but the baby alarm thing has been worked on for years, there's a lot of people for it. It's not an entirely bad idea. He's wrong that only crackheads or murderers do it. Some people do honestly forget. Would I ever buy a car with this installed? Probably not since I don't have kids. But if I had to get it, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I was considered a liberal in the 80s, and I am even more liberal now. But I am now considered more conservative than before. A loud and growing minority of liberals (20%?) have become unreasonable. To be fair, a loud and growing majority (80-90%?) of conservatives have become unreasonable.

The reason theft over 1k is still prosecuted is because felonies are federal, meaning federal prosecutors now have jurisdiction and can take the case before the state prosecutors dismiss charges.

Note that weed could be legal in an instant because some republicans are ok with it and the entire congress is majority blue. But they campaign on prison reform and legalization, and after they win want to do an infrastructure Bill that will destroy the economy and that no one asked for. (Interest rates going up spending should go down, if interest rates go up and the government keeps spendongmoney then interest rates would have to go up even higher)

@@SB4F I think the point of the quote is that the left moves so fast, classic leftists like Maher who hold their beliefs, end up to the right of the center, hence conservative. I recall a study a few years back that compared presidential policies from the past to the current times. Based on President Obama's policies, he would have been considered conservative by 2018-20. Could be wrong but I think that's what the quote is getting at.

Bill's comments on the warning message that cones with a wooden storage shed reminds me of a warning sticker I saw in a bathroom in a diner in Oregon. It was on one of those old style hand drying towel units hanging on the wall by the sink. It was the kind that has a long roll of cloth that you yank on to get a new clean section (while the previously used section gets rolled back up into the wall unit). The sticker read something pretty close to: "Warning: Do not insert your head into the cloth towel loop and attempt to hang from it." Well, duh! And you know why that sticker was there. Some kid probably did that, and then their parents sued the diner because the towel unit was "unsafe" because it didn't have that warning.

As a conservative Republican, I do not agree with a lot of things Bill Maher says, but I’ve always respected the hell out of him.

Even 20 years ago, when I disagreed with Bill politically, I've always admired him for actually being one of the few who doesn't just buy what the media says. (I certainly don't with right or left media. It's called "critical thinking.")

Bill Maher has gone from a left-leaning comedian to still left but now centrist observer of our country's maddening, well, maddening pretty much everything. I wish there were more willing to do the same, but perhaps to get so many people across the political spectrum - just look at the comments below - to come to some level of agreement on anything politics is akin to moving a mountain. We need a practical party that reaches "average" Americans, open to sensible progression while preserving valuable traditions. A party that isn't so hamstrung by these algorithm-driven issues, with a strong focus on fixing what is ultimately wrong with the American political systems. Putting restraints and policy in place that addresses the greed and the two-party stranglehold. Many of us are sick and tired of the divisiveness and lack of tolerance that comes with the two prevailing political ideologies.

A third party has nothing to do with voters. The way the system is set up means the politicians within the current parties need to break away. The Democrats came from the Democrat-Republican Party, the Republicans from the Whigs. Bill’s monologues have been on point for 30+ years. I’ve been watching since I was a teenager and it’s been a source of comforting assurance to know that there are still decent professionals paying attention and bringing light to the increasing BS nonsense that happens in the US Political and cultural arena.

Yes, one of the main differences between right and left is the right can actually listen to opposing arguments and still like people despite political differences. The left can't do either.

I wish more people that align with him politically would speak up. They're afraid of being labeled something. Us on the right speak up and by now, we're used to it. Great Skit Bill! Happy Birthday
