You need to put a washer! A 1” washer between the bolt stop and the buffer tube. What happens is there is only a small rubber donut that is behind the bolt stop and over time that donut wears and goes into the buffer tube and the bolt stop also goes into the tube. The charging handle gets hit on the frame from going too far back, eventually bending it. Someone posted about it recently. I just bought one but haven’t received it, this should be the first mod. 1” washer.

What a great idea and I love your videos keep up the good work and I definitely will continue to keep watching
Picked up the “featherweight” version of this rifle for my teenager, all polymer everything and it’s pretty nice for $150. he can get used to a tactical rifle without killing my wallet with 556 ammo

I aswell have the featherweight. The receiver is coated in almost like a textured powder coat. It feels like a combo of polymer and aluminum. It is metal though, isn't it?

You may not actually have the feather, depending on where you purchased from and some other factors. There has been a number of people who picked up a "feather " from dealers like PSA or Sportsmans and ended up with the metal receiver version with the carbine style fore-grip that is on the feather. You can tell the difference most easily (besides the polymer vs aluminum receivers) by the top rail on the receiver, if it extends out past the start of the handguard as it does on the one shown in the video, than it is not a feather, even if it has the carbine style foregrip. The feather is polymer frame and the top rail ends at the edge of the receiver as apposed to extending our over top of the carbine style foregrip. From what I have seen the feather model, because of the lack of extended top rail and apperently a difference in the design of the mounting point for the handguard (according to Reddit users, I haven't seen both models in person for comparison) is compatible with other standard AR style handguards, bear in mind however that I cant vouch for the validity if the claims that any model of TM22 is compatible with standard AR handgaurds.@@user-cv6sj2vr6l

It's $150 in the US? $600 in Canada :(
Great video thank you so much. I have a different model , but still a awesome rifle for practice.
My charging handle screw bent on me as well, and ended up breaking. Fortunately I was able to get the remnant out, and I went to Lowes and picked up a box of m4x25 screws and they are a perfect fit for replacement. Best $3 dollar investment I have made. Replace yours before it breaks and save yourself some grief.

Make sure to put a washer behind your bolt stop

I've had to do a ton of drug to mine
You didn't screw your stock down enough allowing the bolt stop to drive further into weapon. That's why your charging lever went to far back and got bent. I made the same mistake.
very cool., getting to know your weapon and breakdown & cleaning of it is important! Charging handle is probably aluminum due to the low caliber., will bend/ break if it's overstressed.
Great vid. But I think I'll get a Tippmann M4 22. Much easier to field stripe and reassemble.
Excellent detail on the takedown section. I'm going to link to this video for my own review of this rifle coming up in a few weeks. For your accuracy section you should explain to the viewers that the right set of targets were for checking your zero and the left was for groups? Also were you shooting off hand, rested on a bag, or on a rifle rest?

Can you make a video on how you changed out the stock butt stock to a folding one please

I will try to do that in the near future
Great informative video! Thank you. Did you have to do any specific custom adjustments to be able to fit that magpul stock + folding attachment onto it? I’m trying to do the exact same set up on mine as you have on yours and discovered the stock is a commercial diameter instead of milspec so thinking I may have to do some extra work to make it happen than i had originally anticipated…

How did you install that stock on there? I keep seeing you need a comm buffer tube but have read comments that people used mil spec as well. Would be great to upgrade stock on mine

Use a mil spec tube and use the existing castle nut to secure it to the adapter
Can you tell me what stock brand and model number is and what buffer tube is that also? Does the tube use a spring kit or are there holes in the tube for the stock adjustment? Thanks much for the video 👍
@highcaliberhaymaker

Stock is mil spec buffer tube with adjustment holes. No spring as the rifle has internal buffer spring.
Got one of these with the 20" barrel. Couldn't get the Barrel nut loose and used a bore snake. Got mine at PSA $260 out the door with shipping,Tax,FFL and a free 25 rd mag

How did you manage to put the foldable stock? What did you do with that screw at the bottom of the castlenut plate?

Removed and used a standard AR15 backing plate. The screw only holds on the original.
Is there anywhere that shows how to take the trigger apart. My trigger socket spring fell out and I believe that is the problem with mine not firing but only problem I have is not knowing how to take the trigger out

Definite put links to mods in your videos. Couldnt find the folding stock and I found the model number for the optic in the comments, but its 3-4 times the cost you listed for. Obviously prices change over time, but I don't think they have gone that high for those parts. Would love to know the folding stock part number. Nice video btw.

.22 LR's have to be cleaned often. Wouldn't the process required to break this down for cleaning throw off your zero every time?

Not necessarily, the machine and alignment is very good on the receiver.
The charging handle has 2 flat spots that fit into the bolt, you need to keep the screw tight . Why dont you show the barrel removal.? Simple unscrew the barrel nut with wrench provived and slid out. I have one and it runs GREAT. Very accurate. The buffer tube is comercial not Military if you are buying a different stock FYI
Just bought one, i hear some people use 5/8x24 muzzle brake or 1/2x28 which one does it use?

Depends on if they have the older or newer model. The only way to tell is to use a test nut because the manual may not specify.

When it first came out they only made enough to get out to some shops and influencers…those first ones have 5/16 24….the newer models all have 1/2 28…when this first became an issue RI would replace the barrel for you so you could use your 1/2 28 muzzle device…I don’t know nor am I sure that they still do this but that was the reason for the thread difference

Yep. Ran a few mags with different ammo and it was ok until all the jammomatic issues started. Used a few ammo to evaluate, but in the end, get what you pay for. The breakdown of this is rediculous. Live and learn. Tippmann is the way to go ... pricey, but MUCH MUCH BETTER@@highcaliberhaymaker
Probably buy an aftermarket charging handle .
