The front bulkhead, along with the C and D block, and the rear ballstud mount, have all been changed from a borderline Pot Metal 50 grade aluminum, to a more substantial 60 grade. However, it is still not the 70 "aircraft grade" you would expect. Going to have to invest in the aftermarket for that, unfortunately. Also, the gear box changes are some minor changes to the internal cavity of the transmission case. It very minor, and i think it was done with the intent of managing the wall thickness in certain areas to facilitate reducing flex/warping in the transmission case halves while cooling after injection molding. I also believe they have changed their timing on the injection process to slow down cooling to tru and prevent the warping from the start as well. Which could account for the difference in feel. However, an xacto knife shave test on the sprew says its the same fiber reinforced material blend. Unfortunately, the big elephant in the room, the misaligned D Block Passthrough Holes on the back half of the transmission case...have not been aligned. The left hole (looking too down) is still 1-1.5mm further back than the one on the right. The D block being crooked, coupled with short hinge pins, and the C block Notch, in cheap 50 grade aluminum, all conspired for the perfect set of poor engineering to cause the hunge pins to follow the path of least resistance, and blownout. The reduced machining on the C Block will help, but until bthose D Block holes are fixed, it will always be a potential problem.

How can you see that it's a revised kit ?? you might buy one from a hobby shop but a kit that is allready in their stock for weeks... So how can you tell that you have a newer kit, is it mentioned, do associated say from that batchnumber it's a newer kit? Associated should give those parts for free for those who have the first B7 versions... and that you only have to pay the transport costs....

Totally understand your points… from my point of view I didn’t suffer with any issues in my first kit ,. So the updates are a bonus. I’d rather a running change than a new kit release like some other brands… I get you though!

So AE fixed some issues with the 2nd wave of shipmentns of the B7? Or are you showing the differences between B6.4 and B7?I wasnt aware they had made some changes between launch and the 2nd wave of shipments. Thats good to know since i just took delivery of my B7

I agree with the other chap , I think they deserve praise because they have acted upon it quickly and made it a running change rather than waiting and releasing another new car like some.. out of all the B7s at my local club none had issues , but of course I know some did online.

Informative video 👍 So the diff cover is now metal in the kit ? I know I had to buy the metal one separate for my b6 gear diff. personally, that’s why I’ve not bought a 2nd hand b7 with the issues the first batch had ( for some owners ) love my b6.4d on carpet, but I’m soooo tempted to get a b7 on order ! What springs are people running on carpet on the b7 ? Changed to blue rears / purple fronts on my b6.4d & its spot on id say for medium- high grip carpet

Hi I have received a B7 kit from cml on the 5th June. I have been waiting for over 3 months so hopefully it’s the latest kit being sent out. Relating to the three items you have identified as being different here are my observations Front shock cover in my kit is unchanged. Still the clip on type The diff cover has two lugs as you say but I don’t know what the initial kits had. If you buy a replacement metal item for the B6.4 it has the lugs. The gearbox plastic casting does not show any difference from my friends kit delivered in the initial batch. So either there are various versions of the kit now being sent out or 😟 who knows
