When we say these countries can't survive without us, this is exactly what we meant. Their own economy is built with our sweats. Imagine if I have that kind of money in Nigeria, that's about #12,000,900.00m. Which this, I can own businesses and live comfortably in any part of Africa that has security. If not for the insecurity in Nigeria, what am I looking for in Canada. Well! notwithstanding, it still worth it for those who want to leave for Canada. But as for me, until I have multiple of such huge money, then I can consider leaving Nigeria. But I can't have such money and think of putting it in Canadian economy. I plan to relocate as International Student by 2025 initially but now, I think that dream is shaking. It is not Canada's fault, it is my own misfortune to be victim of this contraption and crime scene called Nigeria.

From what Chokor explained, no. It takes effect for those applying for visa from Jan. 1 2024

Thanks for the selfless information. I have applied for study permit extension too. I got my visa approved in September 2023 after deferring admission to September 2024. My visa validity expires Sept 2024. Am I caught up in the 20k POF?

20k Canadian dollars, it's up to you to research your local black market. Someone already living in Canada cannot help you with that.

Why don't you go to the university and ask since you are already there. It's exactly what I did. I went straight to the admin office and got first-hand information. In fact, the lady sat me down, we discussed, and she printed out a list of things I needed to do. Please use the resources in your reach.
