Canadian culture is based on rugged individualism. So you'll have to rely on yourself to get things done. Canadian Federal,Provincial , City, all have websites that can help you. Canada needs licensed carpenters, if you have those skills you will have a good chance at securing a job. But unless you have a friend to stay with, I doubt that you will find housing in Canada. Currently not enough housing for Canadian citizens!
