Well this is hilarious !! I went to our hobby Town store , and was told I could get on a back order list if I wanted to , I went to our ancient hobby shop , place has been there for 50 years , they had 6 green bikes in the store , cash price $539 , so my wait is over , learned a lot before I got it , thanx to you. More speed ! Oh ya we need some more of that for sure , but I'll go through the learning curve first ! 😂😂 Thanx again !

You can add a custom voltage in the bec menu to make it any voltage you want in-between minimum and maximum. The bec I think should work, smart thinking

Only half way in but I wanted to say “very smart” of you to peel the (-) and (+) apart so they don’t short out if the wires get too hot for some reason🫵🧠👌 I once bought 16 gauge wire from Amazon for $18. Decent sized spool 🧵 of (+) and (-) and is silicone insulation. It doesn’t melt or catch fire. Thought you might consider it after giving us the tip.

Earl, how about drilling new holes in the bottom of the mx boots close to the front of the boot .it lifts it up 1/2 inch way more clearance. 34:52

Hi earl. I would like to know if you test it and all ok. As I understand you just put abec of cStle on the gyro motor to work on 8v. Is that right?

Kwik update is i contacted the hobby shop via facebook massage but no reply. Must be making sure to fill the preorders like you said. But still the good news is running through every promoto video i could find that same night i was able to find a video from pinnacle hobby in Canada and have a blue one on the way

Yes vitavon doesn’t have a dealer in California anywhere I know a few online stores sell and ship but because it’s out of the country shipping is not reliable

@@earlmoorhead5555 I have ordered almost all VITAVONs upgrades over the last 3 weeks and all of them came earlier than they said . I just got a notification on the skid plate I ordered. I was supposed to be here on the 22nd . It's out for delivery today . The same thing happened with them all . I ordered every one of them off of ebay . The only thing I didn't ordered was the wheels. Because I love the way the stock spokes look . And I'm not jumping mine 30 feet into the air .lol . Thanks for the comment. I just wanted to share with you because I like your channel. And the brake caliper is so cool . Worth telling everyone I like 🫠. Much respect sir . Stay cool 😎

Hey Earl! I really hope that will work. But there‘s a problem I think. The gyro seems not to pull that much power to spin up-but what, when it starts correcting the bike? (Wheelie or nosedive not to flip) I’m really not sure if it’s pulling more than 15amps for braking or accelerating the flywheel in that cases. Good luck 🍀

The gyro should continue to work but as I stated this is for speed runs not really for wheelie or anything else if I want to bash I’ll run 2s but for speed I’ll run 3s if not 4s to see the limits of this rc speed and handling with the gyro function at high speed 👌

Awesome vid! Your taking this bike to the next level Earl 👍👍 I bet it will work for sure but also I wonder if the gyro is used for a bit of air control on this. I kindof doubt it given that it takes so long for the gyro to get upto speed but you never know. If it is used like that it might drive the current up. Any idea what the gyro esc is rated at?

@@earlmoorhead5555 ya i could be misunderstanding how the gyro motor on the promoto works. Does it have its own esc? So one esc and motor for the rear wheel and another esc and motor for the gyro. I'll do some digging to see how this thing works 👍

Is the none waterproof bec potted ? Could you solder direct to it ? I would get some connectors on it to make it plug n play. Wonder how long the chain will last 😂

It will effect performance as they tested it for year to get the right speed of the weighted gyro

How come on 3s when u hit the trigger the gear didnt spin when u accelerated but it did on 2s ????

Because the factory esc doesn’t do 3s at this point like I say the gyro is all set up now the primary esc can be replaced to any esc with no issues from the gyro😊

It looks like doing an extended output shaft for the front sprocket will be easy enough. With the addition of an outboard bearing on a carrier you could run a fat drag slick on the back of this.

Could you see if a signal from the gyro motor goes into the receiver to control the steering? Or is the gyro motor only connected to the ESC?

Wait what ? The receiver is what’s controlling the avc steering the gyro is all in one motor esc combo and it’s self contained unit it has one lead to the receiver to control on off function 👌

Yes most dual Motor combos only use one Esc internal BEC to power the gyro no matter how many motor and esc you add you need a primary BEC and you can choose one esc to do this or install an external bec to do it and that’s what will power your receiver all other esc you just remove the power wire out of the 3 wire connector so it doesn’t back feed 👌

looks like it will be ok, I notice you had no throttle on the 3s pack, does the drive esc run 3s ? Still not got your house sorted yet, hope you get in it soon.

The factory esc doesn’t support 3s the next upgrade has to be a Esc replacement the motor will support 3s so it needs a firma 100 or 120 esc or a castle upgraded esc at this point any esc I installed will be fine as the gyro won’t be effected

Interesting. I can't find any documentation on that spmxmx85 ESC. I wonder what BEC outputs it supports. Hopefully the ESC BEC does allow for selectable output voltages as to not smoke your servos.

The external castles bec doesn’t connect to receiver or anything to do with the internal bec of the factory 85 smart esc system the servo is controlled off the factory esc still ?

Totally how I understand it too! I'm not critiquing what you did. As I understand it both the brake and steering servo will be controlled off the internal BEC on the ESC (unless the ESC does not have a BEC because 6v servos can be ran off 7.4v generated by 2c lipo). ---what I was curious about, what input/output voltages can the ESC BEC support? I can't find any literature on this ESC.

The gyro cable right ? And then i connect my bec in between the gyro and battery cable on same wire correct . U didnt show the other wire . Just the one connected to the gyro u cut .

No the factory esc won’t hold 3S goes into fail safe

Earl, power to flywheel comes 1on1 from battery. e.g. If you have 7.95V battery connected, the flywheel connector has 7.95V. So why not connect the BEC directly into the flywheel power line? No need to solder it to the battery. And a question: did you ever got the MX6S Nanny disabled? Manual says same procedure as AVC. But I never got the reciever 3 times blinking wich means MX6S is off. Thanx, Dan.

What ? Do you know how an external BEC works ? The external bec needs voltage in to adjust the voltage out so plz watch the video ! As the gyro is connected to one side of the bec ( output side ) and the other is soldered to the power supply ( battery side) not sure how you want to make it work with any battery plugged into it .but plz try it your way 👌

@@earlmoorhead5555 The Spektrum ESC is your power source for the BEC. with 3S it delivers 11V to flywheell connector! And you use that to feed the BEC, and the output goes to the flywheel. That's it. My friend I ride RC bikes decades before the promoto, with flywheels.

Take a look to your radio....MS6X rate...same as AVC, but not able to turn off, Reciever manual SR6300PM (Promoto) says it's possible. But do'nt get5 the 3 blinks for Off. Still works.

you have male and female ends confused? And just a heads up for anybody watching sometimes he says ESC when he means Bec

There the opposite from what your seeing it’s what you need not what your looking at is the ends needed?

The server lead you cut off you should cap it so it doesn’t short anything.

I’ve alway cut them been doing this for the last 5 years cutting off the program port as I found once I installed it I never remove them or have the need to reprogram it

@@Rckid28 the receiver gets the power from the ESC plug that goes into the receiver? The BEC external that I’m installing never gets plugged into the receiver if you use an external bec for a steering servo there is a few ways to do it but I’d never plug it into the receiver and add anything over 6V ? But I’m not using it for steering or powering up a receiver? I’m using it to power a gyro (motor esc combo)

@@Rckid28 yes so looking at the male connector you would need a female soldered onto the small wires and the big wires would need the male connector as I didn’t have them I soldered but suggesting people order them so it make there job easier? But for the sake of time I soldered mine on 👌

Earl, in all seriousness, there isn’t much I have not seen you tackle. Forgive me…this has nothing to do with the LOSI motorcycle. I have been thinking about upgrading the motor & ESC in my OUTCAST 8S for a long time. I have it loaded with every aluminum component I could find. As heavy as it is, it does not perform very well at all…slow as heck. Is it ridiculous to think about putting a HOBBYWING EZ RUN 70125SD & MAX 4 in there? I have searched for mounts…I cannot find a single mount that will accommodate the 85mm motor & if I did, I have no idea if it is possible to get it into the OUTCAST. Is it even possible? BTW, great job with the bike! Hoping all is well for you and your children! Thanks for all the help & advise I have gotten from you.

Yes it fits M2c make the mount and vitavon make a kit for it as it’s the same kit for the Kraton 8s motor mount and all Chefbeardly put that in a converted DBXL to make it electric ⚡️ just message M2C on Facebook he can walk you threw what you need

For speed runs is the plan and I have a on road tire in using if that don’t work then I’ll use a foam tire 🛞
