New project begins: 1969 VF Valiant Pacer
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Well you all voted for it, so here it is.
Today we start work on the Pacer by dragging it out, and give it a good going over to see if it worth fixing or not.
If you have or know of any driver side disk brake spindles, please email me at: automotivekarnage@gmail.com.

All going well we should end up with a clean steerter
I'd never discourage anyone from restoring a car. Just go for, the bones of a good machine are there.
Gotta do this……. I owned a VF 225 Leaning Tower of Power with tuned length extractors, a Speco floor shift, Stromberg twin barrel carburettor (I swapped out the Carter), wish I still had it !!!!! …… But ….. A VF Pacer , …… I can’t remember the last time I saw one, I remember a few guys who had VG Pacers ….. Please, it has to happen !!! …….. When it’s gone….. it’s gone forever….. but if You Guys bring it back to life ……. THAT WOULD BE AUSTRALIAN AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY SAVED !!!
G'Day, Back in the 70's we used to Cruise the streets of Perth WA in a Burgundy CH Regal Hardtop,it was such a Stunning Car, My Mates Dad got it for him as a 21st gift!
It's amazing that you're Australian 1969 valiant is almost identical to our American 1967 Plymouth valiant..
Easiest way to get a VF front bumper is from a late model Valiant. Same bumper was again reused on the CL - CM Valiants.

I believe the mounting holes are slightly different, but you're right, they're the same bar.
So keen to see this project get underway
I could be wrong but I’ve learned that a lot of the under/sub structure of these Valiants (not just the running gear and basic shape) is common to the American mopars like the Barricuda.

A lot of it is, hence you can get new parts for them.
I had a dark blue one in 1981 with black trim 👍🏻🇦🇺
Here because of the Mopar. Subscribed.
Definately worth restoring, nothing is imposible. My bug was worse than that , now going and registered. Have made 60 video's about its resto so far, on my channel . Still doing mods .
Already looking forward to this project. Just a thought. Maybe Coopz Cars might be able to assist. He's a Chrysler man with a lot of knowledge!
Keen to see this build, any sign of the dashtop tacho?
Would be great to see the old Val being a pacer even better can’t wait to see you get started on the old girl cheers 🍻

Pacer very cool, this is going to be very cool

Started my apprenticeship in 1977 and fitted a lot of PBR VH40 vacuum brake boosters to early model Valiants. Seen one in your Pacer.

When I restored my 1971 e38, I fitted a brake booster. I know only too well non boostered Valiants don't stop, they just show down, and that's with you standing on the brakes.
I love VFs my first car was a VF Regal, she unfortunately died of cancer.
Super solid project

Outback pacer 2 door got a lot of love from mopar heads, would be good to see this running as is before the full resto
You just know there’s a guy sitting in a shed yarning to his mates over a can or 20 of Emu lager, remember that old Pacer we bush bashed and left in a creek! I wonder if it’s still there?? That’d be worth some coin these days!! 🤣🤣🤦♂️🤦♂️🤷♂️
Sick work mate. Looking good on the run down.
Working round Tarcoola in the 70s the vals were the go, wind up the torsion bars and "what corrugations?". Drum brakes often dissassembled themselves but.
This look interesting and a great project for you, all the best with it, will be following this build fro sure
Like to see the car getting back to the new pacer will be fun
Very cool!!!!! 👍👍👍👍
there is a vip wagon out at bonnie rock that has disk brake front end that's out in the bush it is rough but the spindles should be good to go ask around at the local pub and im sure one of the bar flies can point you in the right direction i salvaged the tailgate and bumpers years ago

Restore 100% 😁 Get or make yourself and spit/roll over jig Sandblast the entire car, treat it and underseal and paint it 😁 Can you get new valiant or aftermarket panels for it still ? If so as you said, unstitch and spot weld new or used panels in Be an awesome car once done 👍

I can get hold of a disc brake stub axle. . ..
america seems awash with replica car panels, is there any american car using the same floor? realistically, no floor, no project, which would be a shame, as it looks quite good most places do classic cars require any inspection [like uk mot] before you can put it on road again? keep up the good work young man
Pacer had higher compression
It's a Pacer, have to save it.
A lot of people died in them too power with shit braking. Keep up the gd stuff mate
Drop it back in the creek , it's going to be a big headache to find parts, Maybe all the people that voted for the build need to front up and donate the parts needed , probably have them sitting in a shed for 30 + years covered in dust , well clean them off your not going to use them and help build the shit box you voted for BRO into a classic again and be proud that your parts have not rusted away, but have saved a classic from the tip , all the best

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime....:-((

This could get more political than you imagine. Nice of you to post what some of us know already what the Greenies want and are trying to achieve. Here in Australia it's following the same way to rid old cars, some of us are hanging on strong to an automotive industry that supplies many jobs and good friendships, I'm not about to believe the old car culture will live forever either thanks to polies and greenies.
Gd car in day...3 on floor....few mates had them
