Sick build can’t wait for future videos on that 7.3, those engines run forever

I'm from Louisiana so I don't have to deal with all the rust problems like yall do but she looks pretty mint for a northern truck. Would definitely recommend pulling the motor if you want to do an oil pan. It's not super hard on these trucks and it gives complete access to everything. Plus you can do a pretty deep clean of the engine bay. Can't wait to see the build process on this one.

Yes sir, ive done tons of these 99-16 rockers this will be my first single cab I do but I definitely plan on making a video on it for people who dont work in the body shop and want to try fixing their own trucks

Look into dp tuning out of Atlanta ga he my dad and I have had 13 7.3s and all had em they are great tunes for manual especially

Nice man I’m currently working on my 2006 f350 6.0 king ranch ordered new parts gunna fix rust ordered a 9 blade but most importantly the leather has no rips or tears or cracks.

@@nick7.398 interior is mint gotta replace rockers and done a lot of engine work but I think in a few weeks it will be good gotta do a repaint and color match the grille and Bottem of the bumper

I’d be parking the 7.3L truck and use the 6.7L ford in the winter for daily driving. That 7.3L ford is definitely coming up in value really strong so i’d park it in the winter if it was me.

7.3 has every panel rotted out on it, when I restore it in spring wont drive in winter anymore. The 6.7 is never seeing salt it costs way to much to ruin it

Got two 7.3s 02 and e99 both 6 speeds never had a problem with them in my opinion I think they’re the best manual transmission put in the pickups

I’ve got two questions about the transmission: the knob only shows gears 1-4, plus “R” for reverse, plus “L”, plus one more gear in the upper right-hand corner of the knob that I can’t make out. What’s that gear in the upper right hand corner, and what’s the “L” stand for? I’ve heard these ZF6s are great, but do you really have 6 gears to run through if I’m seeing just 1-4 written on the knob?

@@christophercramer4007 there is 6 gears, Low (for towing take off) 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and D for overdrive

@@christophercramer4007 the zf6 is a 6 speed transmission you have Reverse, low gear(L), 1-4, then overdrive. So you have a total of 6 forward gears that’s why it’s called a 6 speed transmission. It’s basically a zf5 but with a low gear not the basic 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and overdrive(5th).

⁠​⁠​⁠@@jontroyer7975thanks, that makes sense. Assuming you’re not towing, what are your RPMs like with the ZF-6 at 70 mph, and would you be operating in Overdrive (D) at that speed or still in 4th?

I know I mean nothing and this truck would be super cool with 08 up or even the 17 up but I like the old style jelly bean mirrors?! It’s just my opinion love the zf6 though, also some newer fender badges would be cool! Like the 05-07 style would freshen it up? Just my opinion (once again lol) sorry for taking your time :)

Nah man I love reading y’all’s comments, ill pb do 08+ mirrors and yes im thinking of 6.0 chrome door badges and I found a set of f-250 chrome fender and tailgate badges that say INTERNATIONAL under the f250 that I think are kinda sick

Its a 8 ft ford didnt make short bed single cab superduty

Whatever you do allways use motor craft wiring and censors

Don't you need 2" spacers for those wheels to fit?

No they are bolt ons but I do run them to avoid rubbing

I am having issues with my 7.3 every time it takes of it stutters and almost shuts

@@luiscastaneda7996 check the tank! There’s little screens inside the tank that look like two fingers!! It probably has trash in them (my truck had same symptoms) so I would check that

7.3 power stroke is not fully mechanical bud. The idi had mechanical pumps.

They arnt rare... theyre the 04-07 factory mirrors, 99-03 had no turn signals in the mirror
