New Product! Don-Jo ANSI Extended Height/Width Strike Plate
In this video we are going to take a look at a new product from Don-Jo, a company that makes door wrap plates, strike plates, and a number of other things used often in the locksmith industry.
These are standard ANSI (ASA) Strike plates typically used on metal frames in the commercial segment (but of course can also be used on wood frames in residential settings) and have a extended height or width cut out to account for door/frame sag or door warping where the lock stops catching.
EH-161-630 (Extended Height, shown in this video)
EW-161-630 (Extended Width)
630 is the finish, and I believe is the only one available right now

Great idea! I love Don-Jo remodeler plates- they are a lifesaver! Thanks Jason!
SO FUNNY! I was going to mention this on SML. I have been using the mortise lock, single slot model for a while, which resembles the MARKS mortise ASA plate. The OTHER thing we need is a deadbolt strike, with the cutout ASKEW by 1/8". This would allow mounting two ways to accommodate situations where the bolt is hitting the strike laterally, either +/-... as well as a slightly taller cutout than we find on the Kwikset Heavy duty or Emtek Heavy Duty strike. The GRIZZLY mini lathe/mill they are selling for 1000.00 will allow you to convert many a strike in seconds each, saving 8.00 per strike. ( These elongated strike cutout plates are about 10.00 each
I remember you doing a video on how you had to manually do this and why... seems manufacturers out there are listening to you needs!
Thanks Jason 🌴🗝😎
great info, great video. have a great day
Sweet! Thx for sharing👍👍
Nice. Thanks for sharing
Neat video.
Next, they'll make them with elongated mounting holes.😅 Thanks, Jason!

Lori pulled that one off a long time ago! :)
I shouldn't be this excited for an ANSI plate...

already had a chance to use one the other day, relatively quiet office enviro, so grabbed this and it worked a treat :)
Cool!
Yep, slam locking can be a problem 🤔
Don’t think I’ll carry these, less than a minute with my 20v cordless die grinder solves any strike issues for me. 👍🏻
