Just wanted to show the new PowerMax Converter/Charger that lets you switch from a lead acid to Lithium charging profile in one unit. I thought this was nice if you are replacing and may want to convert to Lithium or for some reason you need to switch back to Lead acid without the risk of overcharging. powermaxconverters.com/

I've been using the PowerMax for a long time and I've had nothing but good success with them as a matter of fact I've managed to have a lot of batteries exceed their shelf life using the PowerMax to charge them
Great video

Thanks
I just found this new 'lithium' charger from powermax - 2 stage - in 55 or 75A. Can you only get one from them directly? Looking for a discounted price on a 55A. Where did you get yours?

i called them directly and talked to Grahm. They have a 55 and 100 amp. They are still fiddling with the final part number, so im not sure they have it settled on the web site yet. I would just give them a call.

@@TreeTopFlier - Cool...yeah, left a voicemail today. They are NO WHERE to be found on the interwebs. My guess is they are BRAND new out. Solves the voltage dilemma for lifepo. A big thumbs-up!! They should sell like hotcakes. I have a IOTA with IQ4 which has been fantastic for golf-cart batts, but not so great for my new 230A lifepo4 pack build. :)

Ordered one...they're pretty rare yet. Sounds like the perfect solution for a converter/charger for lifepo4. 55Amps!!

always worries me when a company can’t provide proof read directions “valtage” I was trying to sell myself on these cheaper units buy Progressive will probably get my money for a lithium upgrade
Do you know if in fixed output mode; at 14.4 volts. does the converter stop charging the battery once it detects its full?

To the best of my recollection... The fixed mode is for someone that just wants a AC to DC converter where a battery is not in use. And yes I belive it is adjustable in that mode. The other modes are meant to charge or maintain their respective batteries, so yes it will throttle near the end of the charge.

@@TreeTopFlier I was watching a few videos and they say fixed mode is for lithium batteries as it maintains the desired voltage throughout the charge. It is very much a charger in either mode. Atleast that's what ive read. My concern is overcharging.

Im doing this all from memory so your best bet is to contact the distributor for the best most up to date information. That said, As I recall, there was a problem initially where they were just bumping up the voltage on lead acid battery converters to fully charge Lithium batteries. This didnt address the unique charging needs of LiFePo batteries. The result would likely be overcharging. This charger was unique because it had a three position switch 1. stand alone 12+ volts (not intended to maintain a battery) 2. Lithium charge option meant to charge, sense and maintain a lithium battery and 3. A lead acid option to do the same. The two battery options are intended to optimize their respective batteries without over charging. Hope this helps.

@@TreeTopFlier that's fair, just gonna have to rely on the bms to take care of everything
