No kidding , they have given serious crimes bonds and are back on the streets , ( I'm sorry ), one scumbag early this years March , April murderd someone , by golly of they didn't fail the citizens in that city by allowing a very low bond , he got out , s ticking time bomb , 3 months later he killed two more people , that's 3 , the sports person in that bad car crash ? 156 miles per hour ran into the back of a poor woman and her dog , him and his passenger somehow survived the other vehicle burst into flames , he was arrested and later posted bond and given an ankle monitor , what the heck ? Vegas doesn’t think it’s a stagnant incompetent city. This solved nothing they let people out on bail look at history of DUI’S? They focus on people with irrelevant past offenses meanwhile even your neighbors can kill you with no consequences. What is this going to do? All this because they fund for stupid frivolous laws like targeting people with old allegations, but when they have to put people in jail they let them go because they don’t want to waste money. How is this going to work exactly? The mark of the beast? What a bunch of dumb people running Las Vegas they sure love branding people with old past offenses but ignore actual violent crime and their history of DUI ~none of these people are astronauts that’s for sure.

No way to really enforce the law if you have no way of tracking which person is a criminal unless your literally gonna check every person's ID when they come through. Good idea but unenforceable. No amount of training for the officers is going to give them the memory they will need to remember thousands of criminals faces and recognize them. If they're convicted of a crime in the corridor then the only way to enforce this new rule is to put Lo-Jacks on all of them for that year so they can be tracked. If they remove the Lo-Jack then it's off to prison with them when they are caught.

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchace a little temporary safty, deserve neither liberty nor safety." ~B. Franklin The 5th Amendment to the Constitution protects the right to freely travel. To enact a law or local ordance, banning the right of free travel, even on the Strip, would violate that right. Clark County and The City of Las Vegas, should realize that by enacting such an ordinance, will violate both that Amendment to the US Consititution and the very Oath of Service they took to hold a public office. While I am a firm believer that LVMPD is one of the best Departments in the Country, the officers are already taxed enough in the jobs they do now. You would need the current number of officers of the entire department to work one street, from The Strat to the Las Vegas welcome sign (6 miles), and perhaps even double that. The tax burdon alone is more than the County can afford. This is simply just a band-aid on the bigger problems that plague this city, it will fix nothing. County management needs to stop looking at individual problems and look at the County as a whole. We have greater problems that are contributing to this problem. Stop treating the symptoms this plague and insted treat the whole plague it's self. Starting with our roads.

Actually it is not a violation of rights. A private group owns and maintains the sidewalks on the strip, thus making that "Private Property". Seeing how walking in the road is illegal, they can and did do it. The city does not maintain or held responsible for any repair on the strip. Seeing how the city cannot control its Crime, this was set in place to assist the only reason Vegas is popular. Do your research before stating something is a rights violation.

I think this would be more a 4th amendment violation is nothing else. How would anyone including police be able to know if a person is in fact a convicted person absent reasonable suspicion that a crime has been committed. You should be able to be secure in your papers without unreasonable search or seizure. I do agree that the problem is a far lager issue that people refuse to look at such as homeless encampment, human trafficking and prostitution, and a large amount of drug abuse in and around the strip. I just don't see many of these so called bans will work if a person just stands in front of a judge and argues a violation of rights absent RAS

Nope, still wrong. The Companies are responsible for the maintenance of the sidewalks on The Strip, thus making it private property. Just because the Public Works is under the sidewalk, doesn't make it public. Thier property line runs all the way to the street, you honestly believe the city maintains all that landscaping and cleans the sidewalk, lmao.
