New!! - Old Fashioned Corn Fritters - 100 Year Old Recipe - The Hillbilly Kitchen

It's been a while since I've uploaded a cooking video, so I thought I'd get started again by uploading a video of one of my favorite foods, Corn Fritters. My granny made them for me when I was a kid and eating them now brings back great memories of her. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Ingredients:
2 cups - Fresh corn
1 cup - All purpose flour
2 teaspoons - Baking powder
1 1/2 tablespoons - Melted butter
1/2 teaspoon - Salt
1 teaspoon - Sugar
1 - Egg
1/2 to 1 cup - Milk
Oil to fry in
Please stop by our Facebook page and watch a video or two. Thank you! The Hillbilly Kitchen on Facebook - / thehillbillykitchen

Also watching in 2022! Just found this channel in May. Thank you, Becky, for your words in this video. I lost my husband many years ago & I know the anquish you feel. I lost my precious daughter to cancer on August 12, 2021 & the grief almost takes my breath at times. Trying to be happy & seem normal is very trying most days, but I will remember that the Lord doesnt want us sad, and I still have love in my heart & will try to help others & keep myself busy. Blessings to your & yours during THIS Christmas season & may the Lord keep you safe during the hard times we are all going thru right now. 🙏🙏🙏

Linda, I think what they mean is that Becky’s husband went home to be with the Lord. That doesn’t mean that we as Christians rejoice when another Christian dies. We are sad and know that their loved ones will never be the same. But we also know that they are in heaven and also that we will see them again. Hope this helps! It is hard to understand.

I'm an American woman & grew up in the New York state when I turned just about 30 I packed up & moved to Italy toward the central part..... in a few months I'll be turning 65 years old just to give you an idea of how long I've been living here...... I'm so glad I found your channel....... it's great to see someone from the south teaching recipes & it's a way of keeping in touch with others from the different states across the country!! I've never been to Tennessee although I'd like to visit & unfortunately most likely never will at this point in my life..... Anyway I'd like to mention that the thing I like most is when you speak of the Lord..... I've learned in my life time that no matter what you do in this life if you haven't come to the point of finding HIM then our life is pointless nothing but nothing matters if you haven't found HIM....... & HE'S always there waiting for everyone no matter who you are & where you are..... God Bless you & your family & who knows maybe there will be a time maybe not in this life, but when we'll all be with HIM.... well then I'll finally be able to visit Tennessee.... in other words all that we haven't been able to do here we'll do it THERE..... Take Care & always be Blessed....

I love your way/style of cooking and the 'message' is a wonderful addition to any recipe! I do a little thing when I'm cooking and that is to hold back a few grains of salt in my right hand, toss them over my left shoulder, and make a wish. I always make the same wish: That whatever I'm making is edible. Not really a prayer, but I do thank the Lord a lot for all we have available to us every day.

I got mine corrected through the VA one at a time and it was not hard or long time on the operation table, actually took maybe 15 minutes. Hope she can get her eyes fixed. I now have better than 20/20 and it's such a huge load off my mind, I was so scared of dr's or any operations but I had to put my faith in those dr.'s and I did. Such a good feeling. Good luck.

Your lesson on "My cup runs over" is such a valuable life lesson leading us into our eternity with God! Continued Blessings! PS: My earthly dad (deceased) would refer to your fritters as "larruping!"

I've had a similar problem with my eyes.... the one thing that has helped me the most is hot wet compresses on my eyes.... I did them 2-3 times a day at first because my eyes hurt so much! Once I got over that hump, I can get by with several times a week. The other thing that has helped is to make sure I blink my eyes frequently while on the computer - I found I was so focused on whatever I was doing that I wasn't blinking often enough. Since computer work is fairly close, it also helped me to look at something in the distance every10-15 minutes to rest the strained muscles in my eyes that are used to focus on the computer screen. Self Care is the New Health Care!

I kept seeing your video on the side and decided to watch it. I have never had corn fritters before but decided I would check it out. But the best part was listening you talk about Psalm 23 and your cup running over. I enjoyed hearing about it. Thank you for sharing your fritters but most of all for sharing your faith and what GOD has done for you. It really lifted my spirit to hear this because as I watch the country is in the midst of the Corona Virus and we have never experienced anything like it before. God Bless you and stay safe and in the Lord.
