At least with the Plant of the Apes is probably the only reboot series that was done better than the original. I enjoy all of them but besides DUNE 2 nothing jumps out at me that I really have to see in the theater.

this is a compilation of popcorn flicks. They have their place. Plenty of great original films come out each year. They are just not advertised as much as these ones.

Its good to see all the new and returning directors, writers and a host of new imaginations. The bad news is that I don't think any of these will stand the test of time. They are movies made for the current times of AI and special effects. Really solid story telling would be good to see, something 20 years from now will still be earning viewership. I did like a couple of them. Netflix has been busy.

@@ConaLes Well if you want to earn a living being in movies, Hollywood is the place to be. I get it, it's supposed to be an "evil" town full of "evil" people, but even if the movie you are in is made in Atlanta (a hotbed for movies these days) the reality is that it starts & stops in Hollywood. You don't necessarily have to LIVE there, but you go to auditions, take meetings, talk to producers, directors. I don't even know why I have to explain this.

Every single "of the apes" story/movie is the same throughout every iteration since the original and is thoroughly un-fun without any relief at the end of the story. Evil is evil for implausible reasons and good fights without conviction and fails every time. Might as well be a Transformers plot.
