Took it out the next set up the calibration and alignment no problem used it for about 3 hours foot pedal started locking up loaded the boat back up went out the next day after about three hours footpedal start locking up again. Call Motorguide I figure they would send me a new one and a return shipping label it is brand new wrong !! They tell me I need to take it to a service center hundred mile trip and leave it on the boat I’ll sit down there seven days before they even looked at it. They says it has a bad steering sensor they think. I asked him are they going to overnight the part they said they don’t know when they’re going to get the part l drive a another hundred mile round-trip to get my boat not letting it sit on the lot anymore. I have had Motorguide all my life do they call this customer service Just got the call of the day part just arrived another hundred mile round-trip. Never again as soon as powerpole comes out with there trolling motor l am going to get one just because of there customer service. Anybody thinking about getting one of these don’t do it

Great Videos Matt, Question about your Lowrance units you are using. Do you have your trolling motor running in NMEA 2000 with them? If so will the Tour Pro follow contour lines set by the Lowrance? And go to waypoints stored in them as well? I have the Tour Pro and love and will even more once they get my new main board to me. I currently run a Garmin and it isn't NMEA compatible with the Tour Pro ...Bummer I read on the website that the Tour Pro is only NMEA compatible with either Lowrance or Simrad. I just don't want to go purchase a new Lowrance if this feature just doesn't work! Thank you Matt!

I don’t use the NMEA features, but know they are compatible with Lowrance. I may hook it up later this spring, since a lot of people have questions.

I noticed you also have a Garmin up front, is that because you are using Panoptix Livescope? What graph are you using at your console? Just curious what your setup is. I have Garmins but want to use nmea 2000 setup to follow contour lines, but Garmins are not compatible! Only Lowrance and Simrads are.

I just have the Garmin up front for livescope, this was filmed before active target was available for Lowrance. I have a Lowrance HDS Live12 at both the bow and console. Lowrance has the best waypoint management, 2d sonar and downscan. I have waypoints files with thousands of waypoints, so it would be difficult to use anything but Lowrance for that.

Is there a way to draw a path on your graphs and have the tour pro follow them? Also what has been you experience with the motor so far? I’m stuck between an ultrex and tour pro, and any guidance you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I haven’t hooked it up to my Lowrance yet, so I don’t know the details. Tour Pro has smoother quieter steering, more durable with the spring and anchor mode holds tighter.

@@mattbfishing I’m probably going to go with the MG cause ultrexes are all on back order and I do like the breakaway system. I fish around a lot of stumps so things are bound to get knocked a little bit

If you fish around stumps, Tour Pro is a no brainer.

I’m know I’m a little late but if you’re still monitoring your channel I have a question. How often do you have to calibrate this unit.

  • @mattbfishing

Not that often, only if I have any issues. I don’t think I did it at all last year.
