    One thing that really helps when changing large or heavy wheels is to put a large bar underneath the tyre and use it to lever the wheel and tyre down or up to the hub, your back with thank you :)

    Tip... When doing truck tires do them exactly like you got the fronts on but use your clafs to lift the tire and rotate to get the just right. Thats how i got the 37s on my F250. I wish they were as light as thosr lol

    Something like Corrosion X might work on the steps. It lubricates and will slow the rust and corrosion down a little.

    Get those lug nut spindles. That is what the Porsche mechanics use to get the heavy tires on. I use them on my 991 rear tires, saves a lot of pain. A buddy of mine was an Air Force mechanic and his neck and back are jacked from lifting airplane tires and brakes in awkward positions.

    As for the side step bars, WD40 will evaporate fast. I would use the good old Finish Line TEFLON Coated bicycle chain oil to make the lubrication last.

  • @sgreer78
    @sgreer784 жыл бұрын

    Next time use a longer crow bar and pry upwards lifting the wheel/tire with one hand while stabilizing with the other. This also allows you to rotate it slightly to hit the studs. (This is how truck mechanics install semi wheels)

    better off doing the half shaft, once the boot gets split and if there is gunk in there. all that gunk wears into the cv bearings. best way to wrangle big tires is a pry bar to lift. At work handling 22.5 wheels with tires that are 295/75 with semi truck and trailers. there are also tire dollies with little wheels move to and away from vehicle and rollers to spin the wheel to line up with wheel studs. I am a combo muscle car and truck guy. AND I can care less about another persons ride unless they start talking shit about mine. My plan is to soon lower my Ram 1500 that is 4WD, a lot of people I work with thinks I am retarded for doing so.

    Kris Tyler sounds like you are Kris Tyler. Toyo’s would be the Porsche and BFG’s would be the Corvette. Toyo’s outperform the BFG’s in every respect. Especially in longevity. I ran BFG‘s for years. They suck! They were much better built in the late 90s then they are now. Complete trash. Matt has 15,000 miles on them and they’re making noise. On a half ton truck. Absolutely ridiculous... I have 40,000 on my Toyo’s and I’m running them on a three-quarter ton Duramax. No problems no noise.
