New mask and new floor dressing!! How are the birds doing & what floor dressing is best??

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

This seems to be going for an age! I really want to be out the end of this soon so we can look forward to some plans I have moving forward which I think everybody here will really like.
Don't want to discuss anything though until we know these birds are fully on the mend.

That's great to hear! I wish I could do some more racing but I have some ideas which means we should have lots of racing to come, and hopefully without all the hassle of poorly birds! I think people just want to see the racing really!

Since you NEVER said I have to assume they had parvovirus first off you cross contaminate all lofts with your SHOES I would've used kitty litter or garage floor absorbent granules (like for oil or water) so there wasn't a wet mess - I would put it down daily & remove the next day then reapply the next day just to cover floor (no depth your only lightly covering the floor) - take those bloody feeders out & remake with a tops so they can't contaminate - you can't leave those droppings down on perched or boxes or on the floor - water needs changing during this time everytime you feed them (disinfect & then fresh - use bleach then rinse) also setup foot scraper & brush for your shoes or boots have a pan out there after you scrap clean dip them in a water Lysol disinfectant very shallow so sole & heel get it - grit/minerals very important use small cup with some top change everyday wipe out with wet rag & disinfectant let dry overnight - hope this helps if you have any ?'s just ask

You have probably had 100's of pieces of advice over the last few weeks but one thing i do after every race is put two tablespoons of natural yoghurt into the drinker after every race. The natural yoghurt kills bacteria they might of picked up in the basket

@@hendry147147 yes mate and you are better to be safe in the mean time as mentioned get a couple of fen traps and see what you get. If you get a mink re set them until you are happy you have them all because they live in small groups or possibly feeding young this time of year. A fancier I know of in fact 2 almost were wiped out by mink and same as you describe only eating the head. Almost like they are not killing to eat but killing for pleasure

What had your birds got never known old birds suffer from adeno must be circo or Rota virus , you must try and get them tested for peace of mind, I had YBS at the start of August all good now birds raking the skys out . Really feel for ya fella.

Unfortunately secondary infections have kicked in. I have been consulting with avian and poultry specialist Colin Leask for a non anti-biotic solution and we think we may have it cracked now.

Maybe try putting on grids your birds are never standing on there droppings and any birds that throw up corn your other birds can't get to it.

I said at the start I thought u had yb sickness AND something else. After looking at your birds and the fact it went through all your loft , I think I was right. Your stock cocks which are separate, got nowt. Their loft is exactly like what ALL your main loft should be like . Dry, dusty and u can play marbled with their shit. I think it'll take u all winter to put ya racing loft right . Good luck though...
