The new gen Swift 2024, 'Taylor' made for India has launched, priced at Rs 6.49 lakh and going up to Rs 9.64 lakh. It enters a hot market, taking on entry-level SUVs like the Tata Punch and the Hyundai Exter, as well as hatchbacks like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Maruti's own Baleno. woooow.....the compression ratio is 13.9......fantastic which means it will burn every ml of fuel efficiently...........but with this amount of compression, why dint they take out more power/torque from it? anyways for mileage its....❤ Suzuki is Following the Mazda pattern of increasing compression ratio instead of turbo. Hope tuning firms can take advantage of this engine 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I agree when he said the 3rd gen was the best looking of the lot.. But with the 4th gen it looks more matured.. Hope that is not the case with it's handling.. That tail lamp droop could have been avoided..
Price is big bum. Baleno Top end is 9.89with 4 Cylinder Engine with 89 bhp Bigger Car 360° Camera Tinted Glass Heads-up Dis 16" Tyre I would go for Baleno any day

I used to own a Glanza it has the worst power to weight and torque ratios, where Swift was best.
The latest Swift feels like a facelift: similar to the old one with a nip and tuck. Same platform, dimensions-less power with one cylinder down. But, it sips fuel better now!
Never expected to be with 3 cylinder. Better to go for celerio. Maruti will have a surprise on falling sales of swift. Or in fact they want to kill the product so as to sell other products more
My favourite feature is the nameplate which magically reappears when someone takes it off 👌

I've never seen Cyrus nervouse while reviewing the car. But can we blame. The Swift is one if the most inpoetant cars in the country. Its an emotion for most. Espectually the 1st gen owners. Happy to still be owning a DDIS.

True, there is awkward cost cutting feel right from gen 3 swift, Gen 4 feels the same.. Plastics, metal & aesthetics everything looks cheap & doesn't provide build to last feel at all.

3:37 for god sake bring back 4 cylinder.. I have worked in maruti service centre and trust me 3 cylinder is one thing thats gonna make swift a vibrator.. pnl 4 cylinder was so smooth I don’t know what they bothered to replace that gold for this bronze

Extremely disappointed. These words come from a person who loved the Swift right from 2005. Swift was never known for space and comfort but for it's looks and performance from that 4 cyl engine. Despite being lower on space people bought Swift over Baleno due to it's looks and brand value. Disappointed to see Maruti discontinued the K12N replaced the same with a 3 cylinder engine Z12E. If it was a car with low efficiency in it's previous generation i would have accepted the decision of Maruti to choose the 3 cylinder Z12E, previous generation itself offered fantastic fuel efficiency along with that sweet engine. Dear Maruti atleast offer the boosterjet as an option

While we too would love more power, the people actually buying the cars prefer efficiency and Maruti promises that with almost identical acceleration - let's see what it's like once we drive it!

There's no clarity on the difference between the Indian and international spec Swift just yet, we'll know more once we see the BNCAP results
I own 2nd gen Swift, this looks like a tiffin box which can be opened at the bonnet line across the whole car can be opened at top half....

Maruti wanted to improve efficiency, which it has done, though it has come at the cost of some performance on paper
95 octane fuel is a necessary if you want that 82bhp and 112nm of torque, otherwise ignition will retard to prevent knocking and give you only low power/torque output

While compression ratio might be higher, displacement stays the same and power has actually gone down - which means it's not a particularly highly strung motor and higher compression ratios don't always relate to higher NVH levels

Not bad for a small car ..most attractive thing is the milage but a lot of plastic puts off a little cause insurance might not cover them..Indians are pretty sensitive cause we do get into lot of accidents in our country

Man haven't they messed it up so bad, so much hype eventually for Maruti to finally come out with this. The car looks ugly AF, swift was known for its edgy, sporty and stylish looks. They have ruined all of that. In every sense this is an downgrade rather than an upgrade. Maruti seems to be evolving backwards. And the car just looks flimsy the number plate dropping seemed like an testament to that lol. Anything more than 5L starting price for this is too much of an ask.
