I was in a match with him once, I saw him doing crazy maneuvers and attacking a teammate near me and I was thinking “I wonder if it’s that heli guy from KZread, I’ve never seen any one else fly like that” I was able to shoot him down with my mg and tried to apologize for killing him

​@kenqqq3 in War Thunder "tank realistic battles" game mode allow you use helicopters and other vehicles in your inventory if you got enough kills or points for using your tank in said match

That's a cool setup. Wish more vehicle centered games did official VR plug-ins.

I’d do it if I had the set up, you could just call it a skill issue but it’s difficult to fly as precise as he does on keyboard/controller, it’s obviously very hard to fly like he does with the sim setup but that setup opens a lot of possibilities control wise

@@PrivateMarcus Yeah and it's pretty cool. But counter points, 1, it's full VR forced which y'know. Costs alotta money and would be harder to get people for a 16v16 server setup like war thunder, and 2, VTOL VR doesn't have driveable tanks, and it ain't got no cobra just a Apache and all the rest of the aircraft. But yeah it is a fair point but. I want muh-muh muh 40 mikes! (40mm grenade launcher on AH-1G is controlled by the Co-Pilot/gunner which can also be replaced with a 20mm rotary machine gun, basically imagine a HMD Targetted gun before HMD existed so you had to physically turn the gun in the cockpit and manually fire the gun from where your sitting instead of just looking at a place then pressing delete on a joystick)

@@PrivateMarcus You have VR Controllers.. But that's not the expensive part. It's the headset costs + the PC Specs costs required to run VR that make it a expensive and semi-niche environment. Which makes it hard to compare to War Thunder, which gives Skyrim a good run for it's money for how many toasters can run war thunder just fine.

i never hear good players complain about anything in ground RB except drones because that is some utter bs...you can only enjoy this mode when you have a full line up...tanks, planes, helis...when you know how to fly it, you learn how to counter it

@@MartialFarts92 there is no counter in the italian line up against long range atgm spam but yes i agree drone are objectively worse than anything else also i'm not saying that i am an exceptionally good player but i know a few players i see as really good players in ground and air battles and they agree that there is a huge balancing problem between ground and air vehicles one being that a helicoper pilot sometimes is still able to shoot at you a few seconds after you killed him giving him a safe revenge kill while you are still busy realoading your next 105

I can't fly heli in PC and bro flying like that in VR 💀

Strange seeing players using VR in War Thunder to see what I saw using situational awareness while playing Battlefield 1941: Desert Combat and Battlefield: Vietnam. The idea for avoiding tail-strikes is mentally picturing the cover or open spaces as a 3D model in your situational awareness just as you do picturing the buildings... you can even look at it the same way for leaning objects or bridges. Don't forget that (while it makes an audience dizzy as hell) you can turn slew speed into spinning above targets so long as you've found exactly: how much space you need to gain speed, slip sideways, spin like a top with your tail in the air facing the ground, knowing exactly where to slow your spin to eject into your exit ("One More Pass") and slip out like the Chad you appear to be. It's about as tough as mastering the backflip helicopter takeoff from high altitude landings without A) stalling out, or B) crashing into the structure you took off of.

Actual helicopter pilot here. Just wanted to give you props on the sick stick control. I did notice immediately, however, your "tail rotor conciousness" was way off. It's something we focus on a lot in training. For obvious reasons. So, if you read this, I have some training maneuvers you can exercise to increase your tail rotor conciousness, to avoid crashes like that. First, pirouette. Fly the helicopter in a straight line, while slowly spinning it 360° this helps your brain calculate the entire body of the helicopter, as one thing. Helps institute the awareness of the tail rotor. Next, pretend there's a 14' stick coming out of the back of your head lol. Start flying in your Sim, backwards. Everywhere. Not only would we love to see it. If you learn to fly backwards as well as you do forwards? Well.. you can say goodbye to tail strikes. (We don't do that in training, but believe me we would if it was safe IRL) BUT. Props from an actual rotor head. Keep the fear in the skies for your enemies 🤙

I've always flown exclusively in cockpit mode, I find virtual cockpit really disorienting to control with a HOTAS, just like third person where it for some reason becomes really hard to control the aircraft for me

Man low runs in helicopters are so fun. I've always loved aircraft of all kinds and while I haven't unlocked any heli's in war thunder for actual use, I've test flown a few and they feel so good. I hate how many people just sit outside the battlefield and fire missiles in. That's gotta be so boring, but gettin up in their faces, getting a kill or 2 before you either hit something or someone takes you out is so much more rewarding. I guess that's the difference between meta gaming, and gaming for fun though.
