This car has a one and half year waiting period in India! Such is the hype. When the bookings were opened on the website, 75000 units had been booked under 1 minute! This was a record! Mahindra had to close the window because it did not have the proper production facilities to achieve the required delivery targets😅 Even the brand did not anticipate such huge numbers! And the fact is that it's been an year since it was launched in India but it still has a waiting period of one and half years! Imagine... This car is in a league of its own. It is a proper Fortuner Killer and I say this with responsibility!

Perhaps for your country, but they still have some way to go here in Australia before they even catch up to their Chinese rivals. That said, these are massive improvements over previous generations and the XUV 700 looks pretty good.

The Mahindra Scorpio has improved a lot since first generation! 😀

These Mahindra Vehicles are really getting a good reputation of being tuff and reliable. Don't like them but they sure are moving around on the roads

It feels a little unfair to compare Scorpio N to Fortuner. In India we usually compare Mahindra XUV 700 to Fortuner, which even though is almost half the price of Fortuner, but absolutely crushes Fortuner in every arena, be it looks, interiors, safety, infotainment, driving assistance, mileage, engine power, driving quality. Fortuner can't keep up in any of those. But anyways Scorpio N seems to be making its place in the hearts of SA❤

The boot door is a let down the rest of the design isn’t bad,I am quite impressed with Mahindra.Kudos to them

@@deadpool9386 Well you cannot say that because perfection in automobile industry calculate depends on the reliability. How long you can use it without having much trouble. There are Mahindra vehicles which crossed million and lived more than 10 years without problems. The problems with Indian customers were they never used to take the vehicles to authorised service centres instead got repaired in the local repair shops, this leads to severe problems with vehicles. Even a few old Tata models survived long life since they had good service history even though Tata had lots of mechanical issues with their cars. Indians don’t know how to drive. To get good fuel economy I have seen drivers where using top gear at 50 km on a diesel engine causing too much engine vibrations. Hence many customers of various car manufactures faced engine issues around 100000kms.

Took this vehicle on a 3500km trip through Botswana and Namibia last week. Very impressed with the comfort and capabilities. Average of 12.9km/l with different driving conditions, some 4x4 offroading done as well. Best consumption was 15.1km/l whilst driving at average 118km/h with the tour group. Definitely not as thirsty as noted in the video.

This car is taking India by storm. Waiting period for top end variants can be up to 20 months depending on city, variant and colour and Mahindra has limited production capacity

Was waiting for this one! Thanks Ciro, excellent as always. Will definitely remove the third row, but otherwise fabulous value...especially in 4x4. Personally, love the masculine look of it too and I suspect these will sell very well in SA. Would buy this over an expensive 2.4 Fortuner anyway of the week. Mahindra has a solid reliability reputation in SA and this is a new more modern and sorted model. Love it and will tour the country with the missus in this, anyday of the year.

Excellent review. This vehicle is hitting Aussie shores very soon. Looks like its a very good vehicle, practical, comfortable, & well built. The Cabin looks very decent. Fuel economy should drop to the mid 6's or low 7's with another 5 or 6k on it.

I have Mahindra Scorpios off-road just as much as any fortuner or endeavour here. Infact, I've seen people take the Thar to places where even the Fortuner owners will hesitate. Maybe you're talking from your experience, maybe you found a couple of cars that didn't perform as well. That or you're just a pak1 bot trying to smear Indian brands for whatever fked up reason you have in your head. Could be that as well.

Car getting stuck in desert have nothing to do with vehicle but tires. You need dedicated offroading tires, air downed for desert. Indians use all season road tires and expect their vehicle to take them to most extreme places in the world. Mahindra is no where near Toyota but it ain't as bad as people like you claim it to be.

To me this vehicle is indeed awesome value and really it doesn’t have many drawbacks. To solve the whole parcel shelf thing, they could tint the last two rear windows(factory privacy glass) and the boot window and just throw in a camera as you get in the Range Rover to see behind without the privacy glass getting in the way 🔌🫡 Awesome reviews all the time 🤫🫡🤓

Not sure if already mentioned but the Scorpio reflects its fuel consumption in km/l. So the noted 11.3 something isn’t too bad, but in JHB traffic daily I get better than 12km/l or 8 l/100km. I have seen 6.8l/100km on a longer trip at about 115km/h

It would have been great if this had a proper blind spot detection system, I mean an indicator on either mirrors. It would also have been great if this car had an adaptive cruise control and came with a five seater with a proper powered tailgate

Its annoying seeing some Indians do 'over marketing' in comment boxes, I've never seen a German, Brit, Chinese or an American promoting cars from their countries this way. Let Mahindra do marketing, if their vehicles are good people will buy them, you guys please be quite.

It's not Indians doing the marketing, it's mahindras paid boys doing shitty comments. They have hired a PR team of YT commentators who have different accounts. Scorpio N is big flop and people in India have disliked the design. They are disgusted with mahindra quality. The waiting period is only because of chip shortage 😂.

Great review . Launching this month here in Australia. But I am now thinking this is going to fail. Because here in Australia an SUV is often used to carry things from Hardware shop and shopping like IKEA where you need a flat bay.I also take my mountain bikes in my Xtrail which folds perfectly flat and given this seating arrangement, its over !

It is 4 bolts to remove to get the seat out, had the dealer unscrew the bolts and removed the 3rd row seat.

I agree. In today's time where everyone feels it in the pocket we have to be sensible. Yes it would be nice to own a fortuner but my pocket dictates go cheaper. Personally I believe Toyota has become faaaarrrr too expensive for the average Joe. Even if they plan on revising their prices over time it will take at least 20 years. As for them forcing an auto RAV down on me..nooooo... Toyota you lost a customer. No auto for me. Nice review though.

Scorpio N fuel consumption is indicated as km/lt, not lt/100km.

The main reason people buy mahindra scorpio-N is it's safety,it has got the same safety rating as WV cars in GLOBAL NCAP.Full five star.But i do not know how they will deliver the car because all people are getting 8-12 months of waiting list in india.Nodubt that this car is far better than EVEREST and can compete against FORTUNNER,but waiting list is the main problem here

@@josh3221ify oh another company makes hardy cars ,and that is FORD, like ford eco sport. real strong and hard boy,but ford is not that realiable.i personally love honda cars but i will choose XUV-300 over a honda-jazz or graze.but in SA market the company is new in the passanger vehicle segment and thus it is a normal behavior of a buyer not to buy less-known vehicle.but ofcurse car enthusiasts of SA will put eye over SCORPIO-N or XUV-700 with 200BHP (370NM) PETROL ENGINE.but the number is low
