Depends what it costs to maintain vehicles and what deals they get on parts also reliability Royal Berks Fire and Rescue used to be mercedes but now a switching to Volvo

I think it's a great idea unfortunately you till get idiots who don't use mirrors making the ladders stand out might wake up some so called DRIVERS who normally have blinker vision it's not a case of making it look good its called making people aware unless you know what you are talking about I suggest you shut it

I love the lighting on the new TL, I'm not so sure about the yellow colour of the ladder though. I also love the BMW 218i's lights and am pleased to see another one that actually has H/L flash on instead of just the lightbar!

Almost all of the Met's IRVs have wig wags because it's literally the only mid level and fend off lighting. They're just disabled when the headlights are on. The only exception is the new Astras, which have white LEDs in the grille to avoid breaking the factory seal on the xenon headlights.

There was a new one of those TL’s visible parked up inside the workshops from the street a few days.

The HWFRS video was at the Kidderminster fire station.

Light bar at the back serves no purpose at all when the vehicle is moving - all it does is dazzle other drivers behind.

Great lighting set up but the Euro yellow must be a laughing stock within the brigade, I'm sure the higher ups made their decision though. It sure is going to take a while to get used to that red and yellow look, it's not easy on the eyes at all in more than 1 way.

aesthetic/design review: (1) Yellow ladder, etc looks wrong - like a crane or something and horrible unmatching pale shade and red swish trying to be stylish but fails. Front wheel arch yellow and rear not looks goofy. Battenberg only on cab not sure. Side and front blue ok, possibly could be a bit better then suddenly overkill let's put all the blue at rear - bet that's not traffic friendly at night , (2) 0:57 better - good front chevrons bottom and top, front lights ok especially with headlight wig-wag, has side blue but not set to light on 999 - a fairly common thing for some reason, placement could be better, rear blue simple but effective; could be improved with side corner junction blues (surprised not there), high level front and side platform and rear blues and rear reds and battenburg livery, (3) 02:00 quite good but fairly common lack of 360/side blue - hideaway/covert front corner junction or numberplate box blues would be an improvement, (3) 02:40 surprised by all white front lower level and flashing rear centre camera blue and no lower level blue but fairly good, simple and effective, (4) 03:05 quite good, enough but not overkill, siren on one side however, (5) 03:43 quite good but the inferior of the two new London designs with front grilles on one row and mismatched small rear blues, (6) 04:18 good, presumably lights under windscreen shield are white takedowns, headlight flash can mask indicator flash - maybe just have fogs on wig-wag and/or white grille, possibly aux side blue (or could be filming angle, (7) 04:42 quite good, side junction blue a bit far back and blue over cab door seems unnecessary unless doubles as white alley light, rear bar pattern ok but could be better, (8) 05:06 good, possibly add some side body blues, end titles - (9) 06:20 ok but daytime might need more, (10) 6:20 nice livery, ok lights but side blues would be good, (11) 06:23 good, (12) ) 6:25 ok but attempted stylish design unnecessary, (13) 06:27 good

That's genuinely what ambulance services call them. East of England used double staffed ambulances, most other including LAS say DCA. As already said RRVs are solo responders so it just makes a different, short acronym

How many turntable ladder trucks are there actually in the LFB? Because not so long I was reading a report about the Grenfell fire where I think I read that they only possessed -20 ladder trucks. Correct me if I’m wrong

Currently 15 aerial ladders trucks. 4 Turntable Ladders, 7 Aerial Ladder Platforms and 4 Hydraulic Platforms. Some front line and some reserve. The plan is to replace them all with 12 Turntable Ladders (32m) like the one seen in this video and add 3 Turntable Ladders (64m). I am not sure which will be kept in the reserve though.

CobraEmergencyVideos yeah for sure, they might not be used all the time but I can imagine a big fire needing 5-6 aerial trucks and then you only have 9 left ( if none of the others are undergoing maintenance ) I’m from Antwerp myself and I think they have about 25+ aerial ladder trucks + reserve but sometimes they need a couple for a big fire so they need others to back up for other fires. It’s truly shocking that whoever is in charge of this in London doesn’t see this flaw.

Interesting that the lfb ladder is a Scania. Wonder If there wasn't a Mercedes chassis available. Or if there was why they didn't choose Scania pumps

They initially wanted Mercedes chassis but there wasn't a chassis that could support the weight of the 64m TL without being a full blow HGV. So they opted to standardise the aerial fleet with Scanias. The pumps however are sticking with Mercedes.

EnjoyFirefighting - International Emergency Response Videos - Yes. So if it was to be on a Mercedes it would be a full size HGV lorry where as with the Scania it’s more of an LGV. So I’d imagine it’d be a bit lighter

Beautiful looking unmarked lexus. Humberside used an ISF as an ANPR Interceptor for their Roads Crime Unit a few years back. Shame they disbanded the original team 😞

You know, as an american, I always found Euro fire apparatus to be kinda ugly and wimpy. these are pretty cool though, nice catches!

I love the new TL but why yellow!!! The older colour on the older Mercedes is nicer

Rear lightbar, maybe. Job could've been done with 2 single LEDs. Other than that though, piss poor lighting as usual. Hardly any of it is visible at the perfect level so you're reliant on its siren and simple size

@@EnjoyFirefighting the only thing you'd see in your rear view mirror is 2 LEDs on the grille - the LED headlight wig wags will probably be out of field of view and the bucket light is completely useless... and the mini lightbars are so small they're useless. Lighting on this type of truck will always be hard due to the lack of space for a lightbar, but to overdo it on rear lighting is a joke. There's no need for the huge lightbar at the rear when they easily could've fitted 2 LEDs and then added some more LEDs to the grille.

That new Scania L is a disaster! Its only cool part is its ass lights! I'll stick to our First generation Volvo FH 6x2t ladder anyday. Complete with a proper nee-naw siren

I personally don't care what a fire appliance ( fire engine) is like in design as long as, it can be heard seen & above all is not SLOW!!! & is more than fully equipped with gear to get the job or jobs in hand done quickly & safely. & can carry enough water to deal with until they require a hydrant & that goes for EVERY!!! appliance in the world not just the, U.K & are RED!!! like they always have & SHOULD BE!!!!

Yes, but it could literally be anything. The only things you can definitely rule out are unmarked IRV or ARV. Most likely it's an officer based at Scotland Yard that needs to use blues for an unknown reason.

That's a 2015 one. They were all still white then. There are some 2019/20 white Sprinters too, they're Borough Support Units. The blue TSG ones are crewed by PSU trained officers from TSG and other teams.

@@officerayd2755 no, the Met's TSG has got blue sprinters. CoLP do regularly assist on mutual aid but their blue vans are either box sprinters or VE crafters.
