The New Bus for London, sometimes referred to as NB4L, and colloquially as the New Routemaster or Borismaster... in action around Central London .. End November 2013
Following an open design competition in 2008, Wrightbus was awarded the contract to build the bus at the end of 2009, and the final design was announced in May 2010.
The design for the new bus features three doors and two staircases to allow accessible boarding. Unlike the original Routemaster, the new bus has a conventional full front end and a rear platform that can be closed when not needed, rather than the protruding, bonneted 'half cab' design and permanently open platform. The layout of the new bus allows it to be operated by one person at off-peak times. The cost of each bus will be £354,500 over the four year procurement period , which is higher than the price of £326,000 for a standard bus.
The bus is driven by an electric motor powered by a battery pack. This is recharged by a diesel generator and regenerative braking. The diesel engine runs only when the battery needs charging and so the bus will have lower pollution and better fuel consumption than earlier buses in this class.

Hi, i'm a coach driver in France, next week, my daughter will have a trip in London, i asked her to take pictures of these iconic vehicules. She didn't know this kind of vehicules was still existing !

Had my first ride on one of these, on the 9s. I was very impressed with the quiet, comfortable ride. I wish they were on more routes.

So far I like the new London Double Decker Buses it has a very unique look. Also the headlights in the front of the bus sorta gives it a goofy look IMO lol 😄

Paul Donovan I just don’t like how they look! The old Routemasters had that look that made them special and genuine,not to mention the attention they always had from tourists visiting London. If the new busesjust had an iconic look to them I’d be more happy and open with them. You know like the new London electric black cabs! They look new and modern but while still having an iconic look to them like the older cabs! Plus I don’t understand why they call the new route master if it lacks the basic things the original one had!! (Hop on hop off back door and conductors)

Not the most ugliest of vehicle types, the LT Borismaster. looks interesting from the sides and rear end, but not much else to say about it, you will find people stating more negative views of the type, mind.
