NEW Little Guy Racing Parts TRENCH KING M/T 1.0 Tires!! First look, Review, Crawling & More!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
In this video I review the new LGRP Trench King 1.0 tires! These are a great option if you are looking for a bigger tire for your Axial SCX24, Traxxas TRX4M, or any other mini crawler utilizing a 1.0 wheel. These are made from the same NL2 competition compound rubber as the other LGRP tires but feature an aggressive lug pattern and a tall, narrow profile. How do they perform? Watch to find out!

you should do a tire comparison after break in period is over. i have had tires work great new then seem to suck when broke in and vice a versa.

I will for sure. I hope they break in. I felt like my trail kings got significantly softer after some usage so I have hopes that these will too.

@@CapeCrawlers love your vids man
I like your channel man. The fact you cover small scale crawlers. I’m buying these tires you actually made me decide to get a scx24 before a 1/10 you don’t have to find larger courses you can make one inside with anything and small rocks to a 1/10 are big to these and they are great on rainy days. I mean I’m making obstacles going over my Labrador all day haha she just lays there

Thank you! That's exactly why I like the small scale crawlers. Having fun in small spaces is such a benefit. Your Labrador may not think so though LOL
Just ordered them, a sticker sheet and tshirt. Thanks to you...👍🏻
Just placed an order Thank you for the review!
I picked up a set of these when they first hit. I haven't had the chance to give them a shot yet, but it looks like they'll be every bit as good as the other LGRP tires I've run so far. I'm considering putting them on my Ripper chassis when I get it done, and I'm working on it right now. Thanks for the review and running vid!

Thank you, I appreciate that!
these look hilarious on the JLU, but i dig them! it's nice to have a really tall but not super wide tire option
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
It makes it look so tall and narrow! I am going to try the stamped steelies to see how it looks with a wider track.
Man i wish i had took their offer up when i had VIP access to buy these tyre’s 😢😢. Unfortunately i lost my job so cash is a bit tight at the minute 😩😩, which is a bummer as i need to get my hands on their Billet Super 8 Axles for my Ripper build. Its been sitting there for nearly 2 month now waiting for those axles, and now some Trench Kings ❤. You have no idea how much i love this channel, it’s made me love my SCX24’s all over again ❤❤❤. I will say it time and time again that this channel is the best there is for everything to do with Mini Crawlers. Already looking forward to next video Adam Bud. 🤜🏻🤛🏻❤️🤙🏻👍🏻

on a really stiff tire i like to put in slightly smaller foams than required it helped me out so much doing that.

I bet once they break in and you have installed some flubber stuffers those tires will be unstoppable. Swamp Kings will be a close second.

I think I am going to order the Flubberstufferz today. I see he's got a different configuration for these and I am excited to try it.
Wow love em. Those hook up nice. Recently I was watching one of your videos and noticed the soft contact patch would essentially suck the nubs under the tire at a strange angle. These not at all
@CapeCrawlers

Yes, these just grab and go!
Love ur videos have taken a lot of inspiration from them. I just upgraded my Wrangler. The only issue I have is my tyres rub. I’ve used extended bolts and have the soft shocks for the stance with off set Injora wheels. From ur experience what’s the cheapest option to extend the front and rear axles. And should I put stiffer springs? I’m currently using the 43mm Injora shocks.
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
Cheapest is going to be something like this: amzn.to/3Kp1q4u. I usually leave the springs soft or off, and just use shock placement on the frame and track width to adjust clearance.
Yeah great recovery, yeah I’m here watching I bet flubber stuffers would be great in there

i have the trenchers on my gladiator which is heavy the Flubbers works much better than the foam.
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
I see FlubRC has got a different recommendation for these: different inserts for front and back. I think I'm going to try them.
I got mine on the pre-order when they were released - I noticed them as stiff with the supplied foams. Better with the lil Nova soft foams. I have the slymeballz V33 on order for them - I suspect the flubbers will do the best for these trench kings
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
I have high hopes for the slymeballz combo as well!
Got to run mine today for a bit. They didn't do anything my swamp kings won't do. They did everything my swamp kings do. Except sidehill. But I do have slymeballz in the swamps. Trenches were folding over more obviously on stock foams. But I think the close together tread was also hurting some.
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
That's a good comparing statement: they'll do everything the swamp kings will but nothing they cant. Very accurate.

Thanks! These are the LGRP cyclone beadlocks.
those tires are awesome in the JLU, and i hope you find some time to test them on the warthog, because I think they will be good too
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
Ohh they would be amazing on the warthog. I may have to try that soon!
I will say that these tires seem like after a break in they will be equal to the swamp kings if both have fubbers they will most likely be better at different things I’ve found that wider tires generally are better at most thing over skinny tires but this one might be a exception.
@CapeCrawlers

My favorite tread pattern & favorite looking tire. But the compound is too stiff, I have a hard time using these tires when crawling.

I put the crawler innovations soft foams in mine and that helped a lot. They're still stiffer than other LGRP tires though.

@@CapeCrawlers Ah. Maybe I'll give those a go next time. Right now I'm rocking the vented brass beadlock wheels from LGRP with the Swamp Kings, they're very grippy. I still think the S5 Rock Crawler tires from Injora might be the best for me, though.
Is there a difference between mounting them backwards or forwards? All my local competition drivers run their scramblers mounted the reverse direction. Yet I can't tell if it's a placebo or if it's actually better. These tires look great for super heavy builds if they are that stiff
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
Some folks like to run them backwards because the harder edges of the lugs tend to grip better. My OCD will not allow me to do this however
Which tiers should I get the 64 mm injora rock terrain tires or the trench kings for my trx4m
@CapeCrawlers

The trench kings will fit better. They're slightly shorter and narrower which should help reduce rubbing.

@CapeCrawlers oh sorry I ment the LGRC brand?
If the tyre is a lot stiffer than others made from the same compound rubber, what about running without foams?
@CapeCrawlers
Жыл бұрын
My only hesitation there is the height of the tire. You would want something in there for sidewall strength. It could get real floppy with no sidewall support. You could trim the foams or run a smaller tire foam in there.
