Excellent review and some very well designed accessories .... all of which should be included in the purchase of the camera ... thanks for this presentation.
A thorough and informative review of the accessories for the SL3. Well done. Dying to get my hands on all this stuff. Thanks for sharing.

great review on all the products!
What (another) fantastic review/explanation. Now I need to figure out how to cobble together around $10,000 for an SL-3, lens and accessories.

Haha, so sorry my videos burn a hole in your wallet :)
$500 for a very ordinary dual battery charger! That is extreme Mickey-taking by any standard you care to use including Leica’s usual premium price.

"mikky-taking" Muahahahahaha hahahahahahaha! Love it. Well, Leica sprinkled it with gold dust, so that validates the stratospheric price.

@@ingrippi Still expensive but acceptable. Pricing it at $500 is just not on, luxury brand or not. I know the value of money and also know that these parts are made by third parties and are nothing special and probably cost less than $15 to manufacture because there are plenty of similar quality chargers from other brands for between $20 and $100

Thank you for the video. I have picked up the dual batter charger at the same time as the camera. Still love my 24-90 on the SL3

The 24-90 is terrific on the SL3, considering to make another video on it.

The watch is the Leica Watch in steel with blue dial :)
The new battery is already improved but of course your point is relevant, other manufacturers offer batteries where with one go you get more capacity.

Thanks Andy, have a nice weekend too.
I got the two of the USB-C DC-SCL6 and use the Anker 87w 2600K PD Power Bank and use it on my SL2-S. The other one I use for the Q3. I believe I have to be patient from B&H with the SL3 when they come into stock. I have it on order but I believe that it will be backordered quickly. Cheers!

Think this should not take too long to get it.
Very interesting accesory the USB-C DC Coupler appears to be. Could it be used with a PD power bank if you want to use it in a situation where your battery was not readily accessible? For example when it is charging or if you want to make an overnight long exposure?

Spot-on comment, thanks!
Which CFExpress Card can you recommend? I saw in your SL3 Display 2TB
Does it drain the handgrip battery first? SO then switching to the camera battery and grip becomes hot swappable?
Can the dummy battery work with battery grip ?
HI Matt great presentation as always I’m a little disappointed with the very easily damaged and torn out cable going into the battery case, I would expected Leica would have designed it with a kink proof plastic shroud or spring style exterior to reinforce the connection All the very best
Maybe worth mentioning is you can store the rubber cap from the body in the square space in the battery grip.

I really love your channel, if there’s one brand camera that you could recommend for my birthday What would be?

Thanks for the flowers :) On your question, it really depends what you want to shoot and what workflow suits your needs best. For sports and action photography, I recommend Sony and Nikon as brands. Best allrounders are Leica and Fuji, for instance the GFX100II. If you love "slow photography", means, really spending time for each shot and then getting top image quality, then Hasselblad (X2D) might be the right choice for you. The new Leica SL3 comes pretty close to a perfect allrounder but even now with all these improvements in autofocus you will be better off with Sony (A1, A7RV) or Nikon (Z8, Z9) if you want to shoot sports and action because their autofocus tracking is just still better than what Leica offer although, as everyone know, Leica is kind of my favorite brand. Good allrounders you also find in the Canon world. Canon has a long track record providing excellent cameras and lenses.
I dont think the dual battery charger charges the two batteries in parallel? It does it in serial so you have to wait for the first block to be done first. So me think why not get two of the older charger and do it in parallel? If speed is of the essence...
can you do the sl lenses next
Hi Math, does the dual charger charge the batteries together? The shop assistant told me that this charger charges them one after the other. I don't find this interesting, so I didn't buy this charger. Thanks

My take away is that both batteries get charged simultaneously based on both LEDs flashing.
Just about done with a 3 weeks South Africa Safari/Sight see and I’ve only used one battery for my SL3. The USBC charging is almost a necessity at this point. It’s a shame you HAVE to have the new battery for the SL3 for many of the features especially if you shoot video. Considering the 4k could be shot on the previous generation on the old battery.

If you don't like it, you can send it to me man, 😢
Just a warning. I lost images from my SL3 during a wedding. They simply disappeared. After lots of discussions with Leica, they released a letter to me stating that they are experiencing this issue with many other customers, and are working on a firmware update to resolve this. They state that... "Unfortunately, with the current firmware of the Leica SL3, the camera malfunctioned in individual cases, which can lead to images that have already been saved being overwritten unnoticed. We deeply regret this. Our highest priority is to restore the perfect functionality and usual reliability of your Leica SL3 as quickly as possible. To this end, we are working intensely with our development team to provide you with a firmware update to fix the error as soon as possible." Please be careful!! Apparently it happens when changing batteries out. The camera goes back and records over your images using the same file numbers, so there's no way to recover them. It's insane!
Leica proposes a ridiculously expensive method of dealing with their poor charged battery life!! $400 for two spare batteries, $500 for dual battery charger, >$1000 for handgrip (To double battery power). Whoa! That’s $2000! Wouldn’t the Leica user be better off with just ONE great battery that is charged “in camera” at end of a shooting day?
Im not certain the SL2 charger is getting the new battery to 100%, because the SL3 shows 80% very quickly. The dual charger is still on back order in the US. I think the old charger stops charging where it thinks the old battery should be 100%, and the new battery has 20% more to go. ✌️out

At these prices, only for niche photographers with lots of talent.
Just a slightly more sexy than an SL2, having tried it, not worth the money.
