This needs to be law in all 50 states

There’s a retired cop across the street who is hyper vigilant about knowing peoples schedules. He actually approached my 18 year old daughter and the 17 year old girl girl next door to let them know he thought according to their schedules, they shouldn’t be home right now. (College classes)…he watched through the cameras their leave and return times. The other girls mom and I have both basically iced him out. We don’t say two words to the man. It’s creepy as hell. From what the other neighbors are saying, his new wife (third wife) and he are all about surveillance on the neighbors. His second wife was 30 when he was 52 by the way. She always had to get his permission to walk around the block with us. He’d call and harass her the whole time. We live in a HOA development. It’s not like she was gonna disappear off the face of the planet. I remember after she left him, he asked to see our garage cams (triggered by movement only to the edge of our driveway)…he wanted to see if he could spot who his wife left with. I said stalking is illegal in all 50 states and left it at that.

@@eastside0434 It may not be illegal to prey on younger women who are legal adults but that does not make it right. A lot of young women are attracted to older men because their own fathers never had a relationship with them. They are still scumbags for looking for young women with these emotional issues since they can easily control them. I had a neighbor like that. His wife, much younger left him, but before that one day she came over to our home because she was terrified someone she did not know had driven up into her driveway. It turned out a guy with a lawn service was cutting her next door neighbor's lawn and had simply gotten the address wrong. I thought she was paranoid at the time until a week later we saw the husband slapping her around out in the yard and the police were called. I then saw she was not paranoid but obviously terrified he had had a hit out on her. People are crazy now and will do anything nowadays. Illegal or not.

@@peachygal4153 I guess when we really think about it he was 32 when she was 10 yrs old even though they didnt know each other then now that she is 30 and he is 52 it still has a creepiness too it. I gues I really didn't think it was a big deal not knowing them,but it is not right,just like you said.

The night vision can’t handle bright direct light for long when it’s on……shine something at that camera for a while…good 🍀 luck

It's very uncomfortable to know a neighbor watches your every move. We put up a privacy fence for that reason and of course, my neighbor doesn;t like it. It's a beautiful fence and I can now go relax in my backyard without being watched. She doesn't get it.

Here's an idea if there's a camera pointed at your backyard shine a laser into the camera lens if your neighbors complain tell him to point their camera elsewhere not at your backyard

I had a peeping neighbor, and found out it worked 2 ways. Anything they see from using optical devices that normally cant be seen, is considered "Peeping," and comes under that law. If you sunbathe nude, pee in your yard, or have nude beer parties, and nothing can be seen without trespassing on your property, you're legal. And the nosey neighbor is a Peeping Tom. Proseecute, press charges!

In Minnesota where I live it's illegal to surveill backyards and there's been a slew of repeat offenders for many years. But now other states are finally beginning to follow suit and crackdown on these overstepping violations of privacy and personal space that always open the door to more expansive crimes (RIP Mom)

Suing my neighbors for harassment… they hacked into our internet 🛜… they’ve stolen items out of our house… when they work for Homeland Security they really take advantage of the access they have… I’ve never lived near such weirdos in my life, but due to all of the things they’ve done to me, I know have permanent nerve damage, as they installed something that makes my bed shake… Creeps!

My neihbors house accross the street sits higher on ground than my house, she would sit on her porch on drugs for hours looking into my living window like a peeping tom. After installing a camera due to drug dealing and property crime in my window to protect my yard. They complained my camera was recording them. WTF

Interesting. There should be laws against this- no one has a right to invade your life where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy- neighbors or stalkers or whoever else

So if you have a rear camera aiming at your own backyard like the ring camera that camera steel can record the next home to you.

If they trespass on your property it’s likely illegal and you can have them arrested. Put up a sign and get cameras. If the issue is due to an excessively barking dog, please bring it inside as it might be stressing them out and driving them crazy. It’s a give and take sometimes.

I have four cameras that are on a common fence common means built on the property line. They protrude onto our property line over. No help from local police actually we was treated like garbage! This is after the man came over and threaten my mother along with a lot of cursing mind you, this is a 72 year old woman and this guy is 6 foot 3 in. I walked outside of the house he comes towards me telling me he's got something for me. I believe in my second amendment rights and take into consideration this guy had to walk a acre of our land to come and harass us. Once he started coming towards me I grab my Glock 9 and held it at my side and walked outside and told him to get off my property! Now. We have 4 to 5 security cameras on our house and we was not the person that approached him in any ill- Manor. The funny thing what started all this he cut a tree down and it fell on our property he didn't ask like a good neighbor should do before they cut. He cut it and left it there. I stopped one evening and told them, either get it up or I'm going to have to call the authorities I cannot get through my driveway. His daughter came over that night and was very sweet talked like she had a little bit of sense. 2 days after was when he came over. Also when he was in the yard and I was trying to Corral him out he picks up a tree limb. That's when I leveled off the gun. It takes a crazy person to walk into another person's yard and if it was a problem with me why did he not ask for me? Why holler and curse a 72 year old woman? The gun got him out of the yard. but that started a whole new war now like I said cameras everywhere over a common sense common means belongs to both parties. Which would mean Common Sense would say if he has them protruding over our property line then they become our property. Before you think I'm a Looney Toon I did not want any of this! But you walk outside with a six foot two six foot three man hovering over your five foot two mother 72 about to be 73 years old and see how you act the poor thing couldn't even dial nine-one-one her hands were shaking so bad now we have to live in this hell or she does I had to move no one told me to I just knew that if anything like that ever happened again I would definitely take care of it! CCTV is getting way out of control please contact Congress please contact your local officials this is stalking! Pure and simple and just think over a tree that Common Sense would suggest you ask your neighbor before you drop a tree on their property. This is the epitome of stupidity

Yeah, during the past 3 years, my wife and myself normally sit outside on our picnic table during the summer months. Many times we have spotted the neighbor man Nextdoor standing in the middle of two large fir trees, listening to our conversations. I feel we are being spied upon. Thank goodness we are just simple people, with nothing to hide. Just saying.
