    Of all the bikes I threw my leg over at the 2023 NEC show, this is the one I felt most at home on, plus the build quality and features are very impressive. On principle, I'm reluctant to buy anything that is built in China, under the current regime, but this bike is hard to ignore. The biggest show stopper for me is the lack of accessories, they should have followed other manufacturers models of releasing a load of accessories when launched - backrest, luggage rack etc.

    Hi Jezza…I agree with you..When I first saw the bike 2 years? Ago at the NEC I thought it looked great but if we all decided not to use Chinese products for political reasons we’d all probably be sitting on wooden boxes in empty houses.. Food for thought 😄..I do understand where your coming from though…👍ATB

Reckon that’s the reason for Indian Motorcycles re-framing and upgrading to bigger motors on their Scout range which look so much better than the Harley may I add…👍ATB

    Nicely put together review, first on seeing the brand, Sandy only covered your ride in part and showed just how the exhaust gets close to touchdown in roundabouts.. a bike for straight lines or left turns only...! Be no fun if mid right bend it suddenly tightened, more than sparks would fly. Not be parting with the Himalaya myself for one, if had room for second bike and something to cruise on then the Super Meteor.. Price wise could get a good, cared for Harley secondhand if that floats your boat. Stay safe Cheers

    Looks okay but at that price you could have a good choice of second hand Harley's, that will hold their value and have proven reliabilty? Is the Nightster work 2K more? I think that the answer, for most people will be yes. The exhaust issue is a major problem for me. I have owned many cruisers over the years and so am used to pegs touching down but the exhaust is a different matter? Also, I am not fond of the indicator/plate mount, which I have also seen on the Benelli. Being an older rider, TFT screens are not something that I am used to and I am happier with clocks. Thanks for the review but I would be surprised if they sell many in the UK.

  • @DickieMintCycles

    @DickieMintCycles

    8 ай бұрын

    Don’t think there will be any reliability issues.. China is making good engines nowadays.. Plus making motors for big name Japanese bike producers..Plus KTM.. The plate mount is pretty common on bikes now including Triumphs Rocket 3.. Fair point regarding consumers opting for the Harley brand name.. But it is just a name nowadays with the water cooled motors.. The Mo.Co that I knew has long disappeared.. How much longer Harley will be able to produce the air cooled big twins is limited I think.. And the big twins are the very fabric of what we know as Harley Davidson Mo.Co..ATB 👍

    @DickieMintCycles I agree about the current reliability of Chinese motors, but the perception of many people is that they are unreliable, based on earlier models. Much the same as some riders still think that Indian made motorcycles are poorly built and/or unreliable? Or how Japanese motorcycles were initially viewed. Regardless of how HD have changed, there is still power in that name. In a similar way, riders respect the Triumph name, even though most of the bikes are now built in Thailand, or with the 400s, India.

    Nice bike and a lot of machine for under £10K, that exhaust needs sorting, perhaps it needs jacking up for your weight. You shouldn't be worrying about turning right.

    With the advent of increasing complexity of motorcycles due to ecological mandates, can you be sure that any new bike is free of Chinese parts? Sureley the source lines are blurred nowadays.

    Even well known high end cars & motorcycles , either contain components ,full engines manufactured in China or even the whole vehicle manufactured in China these days . The Chinese have all the latest tech & production methods & can produce to any price point or quality required by the customer . You are probably riding or driving a vehicle containing Chinese manufactured parts . I own a Japanese branded Chinese built Suzuki ,& it’s built to the same standard as Japanese built Suzukis & just as 100% reliable as any other Honda or Suzuki I owned in over 50 years of motorcycling on road .

    Hi Dave.. I’m comparing it to Harley’s water cooled stuff.. That revolution max thing they brought out had hardly any rear suspension travel at all! Now if your talking Big Twins then I totally agree with you …They’re in a different league.. The MBP is a well put together bike with good quality components .. J-Juan brakes(Brembo) Bosch electronics and so on..I don’t know what you ride but maybe see if you can grab a few hours on one .. It might surprise you..( but not if you ride a Big Twin) 😄 ATB👍

    Get rid of the very bad looking licence plate bracket and extend the rear fender and mount the tail lamp and plate to that. The problem is no mater how you switch things up it will always look like a Chinese made want-to-be Harley. The Chinese engineers must think that you steer around corners with the bike totally upright instead of leaning..

    Hi James..Yep, a lot of new bikes are running this rear plate set up.. Gets them through all the latest legislation.. Could of stuck it on the side I guess..As for a Harley wannabe ,to my mind the last proper Harley’s finished production 1999.. We’re talking engines …I’m a traditionalist 😄😄👍

    Can't bank it over on right hand bends ! Can't be ridden properly then, what's the point in having a bike you can't ride properly, it's more or less another Chinese ripoff copy, made cheaply and sold at a ridiculously high price ! Sounds cheap too, yes I always look for negatives, it's the only way to not be easily impressed with crap, sod looks. Not having a go just an honest up front comment.

    There's a huge difference between the grinding the underside of sprung footboards and pegs which doesn't affect handling and the looks of the bike too much and hitting the ground with a fixed item like the exhaust which will be both dangerous and damaging. As OP said, what's the point of this bike ( unless you live in a world without corners )
