The other thing that is worth noting on the MBP is that it comes standard with Metzeler Cruisetec tyres. That's a virtual discount on the purchase price, as a lot of other bikes don't have such premium tyres. It might sound like I'm a biased Cruisetec fan, which you'd be right in thinking that I am. Also, a big thumbs up to MBP (Keeway) for providing footboards on this bike.

A lot of people don’t realise that these bikes have premium parts. For some they are just Chinese and they can’t see that. They are missing out.

The main problem with all these Chinese bikes is there is sweet FA dealerships and aftermarket parts will be a long time coming, agreed it looks good and seems to go well but second hand values will be zilch in no time.

They are owned and built in Italy I believe. But they are Part of the Keeway group which is Chinese but to be fair their standards are so much better than they used to be. Same with Benelli which is part of the same group. Every time I see a new one you can see more improvements.

Totally agree with you Mike Hurley. Dealership establishment is #1 for me in any vehicle or machine. Anything 'consumer grade' item (eg toaster or TV), I can live with if it dies during it's lifetime. But for a vehicle that I consider would last 30 years or more, then dealerships are critical. I can imagine some bikes being written off by insurance companies because a drop in the driveway scratch the zorst and there's no OEM or aftermarket replacement. The MBP's pricetag, lack of long term dealership support, fear of depreciation, reluctance to buy a new brand, etc will kill sales, so market share will make these sorts of bikes unviable, especially as regulations will tighten up on what we buy & how we use it (eg crazy speed limits in Wales, or ULEZ rules). Frankly, I think the 'golden years' of motorcycling have passed, and we can only enjoy what's left before it's no longer a thing for people to indulge in. Yes, China can make some good motorcycles if they really want to, but it's too little too late. Motorcycle owners are a 'cliquey' bunch and if they're not rusted on to their Norton, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, Harley Davidson, Royal Enfield, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kwikazfuki, KTM, then they're not spending money on all the other remaining brands on the market.

Maybe, Like KTM then. If you buy a bike for resale value and not how it makes you feel or how it looks and handles then you're more dealer than rider. They are unproven but I remember all these things being said in the seventies by older bikers regarding Japanese bikes...Time will tell.

I totally agree. I bought a Voge 300 rally after I tried one. Much better than the Honda. Voge make engines for so many different brands like Kawasaki and bmw. Yet “it’s Chinese” will always be said as though it’s a bad thing. On the plus side it’s those people saying that which is keeping their prices down. As soon as everyone catch up and realise they are good that’s when the prices jump up. For now I’m making the most of those lower prices 👍

However I would wish for a full rear fender instead of the mud slinger that is on there now and not a fan of the pointed trim sticking off the front of the tank.
