Thanks for all the Thumbs Up so far in 2024!👍
Wow, I was really expecting a lot more cheese than that based on the first version of that sandwich. It still looked quite good, though.

So were we! And yes, still good... and less mess ;)
Great thumbnail guys! Kai Chun brought out the whip on this one huh guys? Definitely not as high pleasing like last year but look tasty. Definitely think you needed something spicy

Yes, KFC always makes a decent sandwich👍
i’m not sure how they cook the pies in japan but they need to go backroads frying their pies

Wendy's has a new breakfast burrito and (I guess) it's pretty good. Would LOVE Raclette cheese on a burger. The more (cheese) the merrier!

I'm never near a Wendy's in time for breakfast, but no burritos here. Or frosties... :(
I also had the butterscotch pie today from McDonalds here in Okinawa. It was very yummy.

Awesome! I bet there must be some really good burger joints in Okinawa👍
I'd think that cheese would be perfect for like a Drowning In Cheese Loaded Fries, with like tomatoes, onions, jalapenos etc. Would probably work best for a mild cheese!

Oh yeah? Maybe they'll try something like that next year...

@@CriticalEatsJapan Ive seen raclette on roast potatoes before. Idk how it wouldnt be good
This was fun! I remember the one from last year having a lot more cheese. Don't think they can call either of the sandwiches you both got "drowning in cheese" 😂Glad they were tasty at least though!!
It looks dunked in cheese, not drowning..😂

Right! Sad but easier to eat, so I guess that's a plus...? ;)
i would say its like butter beer for those ¨Harry Potter¨ fans out there. Less sweet.
@CriticalEatsJapan

Butterscotch, butterbeer ---I can see the connection👍
Yeah. That ain’t exactly “drowning.”
Maybe the price they pay for cheese went up ?
@CriticalEatsJapan

Yeah, that could be. The price we pay also went up...
looks good... but raclette has more of a yellowish tint to it and it's mild but stinky since you don't complain about the smell I think it's a real small quantity of cheese as comparaison to the bechamel sauce... Raclette does have a smell to it.

This totally just looked like mayo ---though I'm glad it wasn't ;)
Looks like they did CPR on that sandwich. Must have been lawsuits from last year so they have lifeguards make them I can hear the baywatch music now

Haha, yeah, must have been👍
The raclette really does look like a big dollop of mayo. 😂 That's good value for the sandwich, though, even without converting to USD. Nice size chicken filet and quite a bit of cheese (except on Aaron's, sadly).

I checked last year's prices and a set was 840, this year it's 900 ;)
I think I'd like a bit more cheese too. Aaron got ripped off. :)
@CriticalEatsJapan

Even though there was a decent dollop, we were both surprised by the lack of cheese ;)
The chicken sandwich looked great. I put potato chips on my burgers to add a crunch factor. #TeamApplePie
You guys seem to still have the good fried pies!! They ruined them here in NY and they are baked now and not as good
@CriticalEatsJapan

Yeah, ours are fried. I think I read somewhere that only 2 US states still fry theirs... I don't think I've ever had a baked one
$5AUD. Geez. KFC in Australia would charge *at least* double that if they bothered to produce anything this interesting over here. Time to book another Japan trip I think.

Our yen is really weak so it's a great time to visit! Think of this as half an hour on minimum wage for a more accurate comparison ;)
Looks really interesting, but it is weird using such a neutral cheese on fast food lol. I wonder how the KFC chicken itself tastes in Japan, I don't really like it in the US.

It’s different. It tastes crispier and fresher than what I normally get in the U.S.

Drowning in cheese, no. It was more manageable to eat for you guys.
