There are a couple of layers to the song and it's meanings that you missed. They spent the first summer of the lockdown, 2020 creating the album that this song is from. Before Covid, they had a huge global tour planned, including to a couple of destinations they hadn't been to before, and the tour, at the time this album came out, was indefinitely delayed. It was eventually cancelled. The song is not just about being with each other, but also not being able to see or hear ARMY. Suga's and J-Hope's verses are directly to ARMY. That's why Taehyung was looking at the stadium where their concert would have been. The ending scenes were filmed on the set of an online concert that they did, with ARMY bombs in the seats to represent the missing ARMYs. They had planned and practiced for weeks, if not months, for that tour and then it just didn't happen and suddenly they couldn't go anywhere or do anything. It absolutely devastated them.

On the album AgustD DDAY, there is a song with the same name. There were two versions of the song, this one and the one that Yoongi wrote. They chose this one for the group, and Yoongi saved the song and released it in his latest album. It's up to you to decide whether to listen to it or not, just a fan fact).

FYI - when the Pandemic happened, SUGA actually went to his parents and cried because he couldn't perform. He mentioned how he slept between them in bed. That really touched me.

YES this was during the pandemic and the interior shots was their shared apartment. The bedroom scene was Jhope and Jimins bedroom. This was probably the last apartment they shared together before they slowly started moving out. I mean they had literally lived together sharing rooms and amenieties since 2011/2012 . I know Jimmy had self isolated in 2020, as there is footage of him during this time where he is cleaning his apartment lol. Im.not sure where the others were, perhaps with their direct family. But technically most members still continued live there. (Senior Army's can atest if i am wrong) If u watch the 2022 Festa, it was very very emotional for them and RM cried the most as they refer to finally packing up their stuff to finally leave the shared apartment so it was very sad and at the same time the " hiatus" was mentioned as they were all working on their own individual projects, which we have now all already experienced to date and Jin being the 1st to enter military. Brings back emotions😢😢😢

I do love that song, whenever I feel like I’m stuck on an unpleasant situation, I always think about that chorus… Life goes on🥹

This is off the album BE, which is all about the pandemic era culminating in the happy and uplifting Dynamite. Personally I absolutely love this song - it gives me such a sense of comfort, like a proper hug. The album is full of great songs (of course - all their albums are!), but especially the fantastic hip-hop Dis-ease, the deep and emotional Blue & Grey, and the contemplative and imaginative Fly to My Room.

We had no idea how hard it was on them when the tour was canceled and then lock down. We thought it would be like a well deserved vacation for them, not understanding how they THRIVE on their nonstop hectic schedules. They went though major depression, and were devastated. The tour being canceled was brutal, the tickets were already sold! Their very being, centers on singing and dancing and practicing, and performances and touring and concerts. To have that suddenly yanked out from under you, and being confined to your apartment, and not knowing for how long was especially hard on them. But we got some great music from the pandemic. 💜💜💜

this song came out at a perfect time and was a blessing for me. I was alone and very so depressed because of the pandemic and other health issues so the words were so comforting. Seeing them in their pajamas and just lying around made me feel I wasn't alone. Seeing V look at the stadium broke my heart for them. JK did a beautiful job directing it. 💜

I think that while some of them had other apartments, they were all living in the dorm together in order to be able to perform together without isolating for several days, basically forming their own little COVID bubble. I remember bursting into tears when I first saw it because it was November 2020, right about the time people had begun to wonder if this was just going to be life from now on. "No end in sight." No vaccines, everyone struggling with pandemic shortages...but it was one of the first songs that put into words the emotional trauma of the previous 8 months. It was a stab to the heart but comforting at the same time because it acknowledged it. "They say the world has changedbut thankfully between us nothing has changed" is so powerful and so much what we needed to hear.

Yes, they all got "stuck" in Seoul at the dorms/business bldg and couldn't go anywhere, their biggest tour ever that had been being prepared for a year got cancelled. Their lockdowns were much harsher than ours in America and I dare say in England, so they were truly isolated together. And all their professional plans were trashed and it just kept going on and on. And yeah, they were still living in a "dorm", albeit an expensive very nice dorm, each with their own rooms/apt, but all connected (I think they had a common area with kitchen/living room type thing). BTW, ANY song you pick to react to - ANY performance - will be just fine. You will NOT be disappointed with any of them.

When the camera zooms in on Jin with everyone sleeping behind him, oh my heart he is SO BEAUTIFUL in that moment I could cry! And Jimin in the white with the angel collar, and WOW! I wasn't ARMY yet when this came out, but it's still a comforting song and kudos to JK for the MV direction!

To add meaningfulness: if I remember correctly, when they created the song and the video, they also knew that soon after this Jin was going to the military (at the end, they decided to postpone the enlistment a little), so I think we can read the song lyrics and the video with a double meaning in mind: this pandemic will pass soon, but also, the period of the military will pass soon too, and we'll be all together once again.🥹 Jin part, when he said "To the future, let's run away" and there is the b&w part where they are singing together in a concert once again is really special to me. Jungkook did a very good job🥺✨ (ah, if someone didn't already told you, you can check his own videos made during their travels, it's called Golden Closet Film) 👍🏼✨
