Thanks! It was nice to get out.
Mark, so glad you feel well enough to hike. NJ is one of my best memories of my thru hike of the AT. I got the opportunity to stay with a friend and she slacked packed me through the entire state. I went SOBO so I experienced those huge mosquitoes. So glad that you captured so much of the beauty that I remember. Happy Hiking

Some of the NJ section is very pretty! The mosquitos are not a good part of the experience though!
Glad to hear you’re feeling better. Camp chairs are wonderful. Kyle O’Grady shit on them forever. He finally got one, carried it,,and didn’t even sit in it. Deet and Permethrin work great in mosquito territory.

I did enjoy the chair. My clothes are all treated with Permethrin and I was using Picardin on me and the mosquitos laughed at all of it. I had zero ticks so that’s a plus!
Any weekend out is a great weekend out. Thanks for sharing. I just hit the trail this past week after a few weeks of recovery from Lyme. I'm right there with you with the mental struggle. It all goes away though when I'm looking up in my hammock :)

Glad you’re back at it and recovering!
Far Out says that the water spigot at the derelict house (mile 1353.5) has been removed. No word on when or if it will be repaired. I suppose Unionville might be a good stop. Anyway, looks like a fun trip. I love my chair. Seems like you make good decisions. Hike another day - right on!

That's a fact!
Great video. Glad you're feeling well enough to get out. Definitely felt like a more relaxed 'stop and smell the roses' chill trip. I dig all the wildlife shots. Taking in what the trail gives. Cool you had plenty of electrolytes available. I try to have ready to eat protein bars to munch on every hour. Mosquitoes were pretty bad last trip so it was handy to eat while hiking. The bridge hammock looks super comfy. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

It was a bit more of a relaxed, no agenda, no plan type of trip. That bridge hammock has been amazing!
Hope you get another opportunity; the Grand Canyon isn’t going anywhere. The best hikes are those with no agenda. I hope to do the NJ AT section in the spring.

For sure the Grand Canyon will be there another time! Sometimes those no agenda hikes are just what you need, they're tough for me though, I'm such a planner!
Sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip. But glad to hear your improving. Praying your#s get back to normal soon. Good to see you out!
