hmjs13 I like it, minus the gimmicky pop-up gear selector and the motorized vents. That's just something extra to inevitably break and cost thousands to fix.

Jaguar is without doubt the new king of the road, they have raised the bar to an even higher level with this beauty.

I'll be the first one to say that I love German cars, the big trio Audi BMW and Mercedes, but I'm not that type of stupid fanboy who will bash anything that doesn't come from Germany. Going by looks alone I think this car is fresher than the A6, 5 series, and E Class.

+Radu Vlad Jaguar uses the ZF gear box. That will be the same unit that Audi, BMW, Bentley, Rolls Royce and many others use! go and troll somewhere else.

I have a 2011 XF 3litre diesel and it's been a wonderful car. No problems whatsoever and can be fairly quick when it wants to be. I will def be considering replacing with the newer V6 diesel.

Good review, I like this guy. And the car, as well. Love the aggressive looks.

I love my 2010 XF! Jaguar in my opinion is burning the competition as far as design!

I have had two XF's, both 3ltr diesels and loved them both. The first was written off by a pillock on his phone, the second was traded in for my current XJ Portfolio. For my money the German offerings are not in the same league, but I might be a bit biased!

It does look amazing, well done to Jaguar's design team.

I never get tired of hearing jaguar reviews

It will take a timr before Jaguar reaches somewhat comparable volume sales of the 3 series, e-class and Q5 with their XE, XF and F-pace models, but they are certainly doing a good job with the new XE and XF models. The old XF was quite competitive, yet the sales were only fraction of its German rivals. It will take some time for the customers to get used to Jags models as an real option, but it seems Jaguar will finally became a volume brand. The new JLR owners really do know how to run a car company.

Jaguar was always better than merce bmw and audi and is better and will be better

With such great cars like the new XF, the XE, F-pace and F-type, Jaguar should be selling 300.000 per year.

C'mon guys, don't be tight on the reviewer he's a nice bloke just doing his job! Oh and read the stats yourselves, the XF second generation really is as good as a 5-Series on most if not all fronts.

I'm 38 and I find the classic Jaguar style (with leather and walnut) much more appealing. It had certain grace and dignity to it. While new models are certainly modern and very high tech, they lack that classic appeal.

Jaguar is trying very hard Keeping up with the Germans, but just not quite there yet.

Looks good and drives brilliantly, also a bit more exclusive than a German rival - looks more aggressive now too. If the Mercs weren't a bit offset in RHD guise then they'd probably be my fav but until the new 5 series comes out I agree with this bloke

You're wrong about the rear suspension, the XE has the same setup as the XF, mainly the multilink "Integral Link".

Jaguars are stepping up their game but still, for sheer driving pleasure a bmw can't be beat

It is also made in the UK helping employment and helping balance of trade and the R Sport is worth consideration.

I love this guy, he is wonderful, also the car is very impressive, I never thought Jaguar could make a car like this.

I own a used 2017 xf r sport, this car is absolutely stunning, i owned mercedes and audi, but from my perspective the xf is better, the comfort and the driving are perfect, it is a beautiful car and so classy

Dad got a XF last year. I think the old gen interior looks better.

disgraceland uk Yea...no, it wasn't. It didn't ride as well as the E class or 5 series, yet it didn't drive as nice either. Interior was nice, but quality not up to the best, sound proofing wasn't as good, engines weren't as good, gearboxes damn sure weren't as good, it had less room inside, etc. Look, anyone who says XF has always been better than the competition is clearly someone who is just a delusional fanboy and actually know jack shit about cars. That' just how it is.

CJ D My dad has a BMW X5, 18 months old, the interior is shit. It feels cheap and tacky compared to the Mercedes I drive. He said so himself.

bough my 3rd jag and its the last. nice cars but built to NEED a jaguar dealership to do ANYTHING to it but then the service from 'approved' dealers I have used had been appalling ( 6 weeks in and been 'advised' following a breakdown that dealer found 4,500.00 of work needed but still guessed at why I broke down !! The perfect dealer's car as they get the sale then the repeat business as it spends its life being repaired.

i've never been in a luxury car, but when people say its quiet, what is exactly meaning of this? does this mean you can't hear any road noise or are totally separated from outside?

sad part is, BMW and Mercedes will still be on top in terms of sales numbers :(

The exterior driving shots aren't from auto express. The track drivers had helmets, the reviewer didn't. Sometimes the silver road car has British '15 plates, sometimes no plates, sometimes a random numbered plate. Shoddy

I've never heard the word indeed, so many times in ~6 minutes. And how come he'll talk about some aspect of the car like it's in a league of its own, then say it's only "a little bit" better than a 5 series in that area? Other than that, solid review.

American Journalists make a biased review, no one bats an eye. British Journalist makes an optimistic review, every one loses their mind !

In looks department it already beat BMW, E-Class and A6.

cars in this class are all about preference over actual performance capabilities...is far as I've seen most people who buy these car NEVER explore their capability.

I think you're struggling with head room in the back there Sir.

The only thing I liked about Jag is its looks, now that same basic look has been over 10 years. The S-type still looks better imo

Looks great but how is this car compared to his rivals in reliability?

Where as the Germans are now starting to go fuzzy controls & many long contours/shapes/edges in their design, Jaguar's design is more modern & simple. Contemporary luxury is the best word I can find to describe it vs. the Elegance luxury like of Mercedes. Both the exterior design and interior layout speaks this to me. I was a fan of this theme when Audi employed it in the last A4 & A6, but their new ones left me a bit cold. I like where Jaguar is heading and it is a refreshing taste of where the Germans are heading.

doesn't the XE have the same solution for the rear suspensions. they're both using integral link in the rear and double wishbone in the fronts
