Alex, I’m an Interior Designer for a living and EVERYTHING you were saying was totally speaking my language 😍 you are so thorough!! You are right. This home has beautiful bones. Congrats to you guys on the second home!!!

One thing that was nice when I renovated a place I wasn’t living it yet was I bought one of those lock boxes for the front door like realtors use. So you put your key in that and then if the contractor needs to get in you just give them the code to unlock the box!

Congrats again on your condo! It won’t take much for you to make it your own I’m sure. It’s perfect. Julian gets to grow up enjoying the Florida sun, learning golf with daddy and being pretty close to all the fun theme parks! You’re living your best life I’d say ☀️

It is perfect Alex! Really spacious! Love all your ideas! And that photo Michael found is so beautiful. For me, water just conveys serenity and when you include it, it will change the entire personality of the place, as well as the occupants. All of your ideas will come together and make it your peaceful haven. Home away from home-or will it end up the opposite? So excited for you! PS. Lowes sells this tile grout dye. It is actually like a rubberized paint. You clean the grout lines on the floor, then brush this stuff on. It will bring a cohesive unity to the existing floor until you get it switched out. Depending on the color you choose, if you go white or bone you will be amazed how much larger your space will feel. Those grout lines just disappear. Runs about $10 a bottle. You may need 3 bottles. Time consuming but once you begin you will see it is worth it. : )

Yes!! My sister did this stuff.. she did a small section every evening while watching her on netflix. It does make the grout lines go away! Great suggestion.

Congratulations. We are renovating our house now. I have been keeping my subscribers up to date too. They love seeing the process. We had a tiki bar INSIDE the house 🤦🏻‍♀️, red tile and everything. It’s come a long way since we moved in December. I am excited to see your updates. Ohh we just changed our light bulbs to LED daylight ones and it’s great for filming!!! Lol

I'm just such a germaphobe I'd want to move into a house and completely clean all the floors and replace the carpets immediately, I totally couldn't use someone elses furniture or dishes but honestly the way you're doing it sounds sooo much nicer to ease into redoing it while still being able to enjoy it. So happy for you guys!!

My husband and his dad have completely gutted and renovated our last 2 homes and they’re currently working on our next home. It can be so overwhelming!! We’ve used an awesome cabinet supplier that is so affordable if you want the name. We also price shop A TON. So like, for trim, a local lumbar yard might be the best route rather than a big box store. But for other things, like tile, a Lowe’s or home depot might be your best route. Best of luck!! Can’t wait to watch it all come together! 😍

I think one of my friends lives in these. She has the same (or very similar) view! Also, the living room coffee table would be a great table to store toys or movies in for JuJu if you could find a place for it. Why dis she leave so much behind? I must have missed the story behind getting the condo furnished.

Great idea!!

I think the den would make a really cute play room for Julian when he gets older. That way when you have guests the toys are out of the way, but you can still have access to him from the living room. I also like the idea of it being a filming room as well.

Love the new place and how humble you are with the used furniture. I can't wait to see the renovations and what's to come!

Love it! We bought a condo in Florida a couple years ago and just love having it! Also check your association guidelines before doing anything, in Florida they are crazy about following the rules! Ours doesn’t allow the 2nd floor condos to have tile or hard surface floors in the family room!? Because of sound barriers, so that sucks but luckily we are on First floor. Enjoy!!

I love the new condo Alex! It's gonna look really good when you get all the decor pieces and upgrades. It is smart to move slow and do things in segments. I live in Florida and love it here. A few places to check out and shop are: At Home, Ollie's, Old Tyme Pottery. At Home is so huge get there early so you can see everything! They have aisles and aisles of home decor!!!

LOVE!! We have been looking into a second home or an investment property and this is such a good idea. We bought our first home a year ago and have loved Home Depot, wayfair is awesome and surprisingly Macy’s has had some great finds. Good luck can’t wait to watch this new adventure!

We are almost neighbors!! If you're up for a little hunting or restoring. The Habitat for Humanity Restore on Hardin Ave is amazing. Sometimes it is hit or miss but we got our tufted Dining Chairs there(brand new), restored a beautiful rustic wood claw foot dining table and found brand new pier1 furniture pieces there too!

I'm so excited to see how you guys renovate! My hubby and I are actually planning on moving back to Florida in a few months. I'm originally from there but currently living in California but it's just too expensive to live here so back to Florida we go!

Congratulations! I just finished renovating my home in Florida. It's a ton of work but worth it in the end. We made a few mistakes along the way for sure but the end result was beautiful. We got a lot of our hardscape materials at Floor & Decor. They have a huge selection.

“ Matter Brothers” has great furniture and a at reasonable prices! I just finished renovating our vacation house in Florida and that was our go to place for modern furniture with a beach cottage vibe. Basically the Boston interiors of Florida. Happy renovations!
