I have loved horses since I was in pre school I am now almost 13 and have never had the chance to own a horse because my dad does not like them. Reading all the comments yesterday, Lumiere was the number one name that came up again and again. It fits well, so it was not surprising you chose that name. I remember a comment from one of my other go to favourite channels. This wonderful gentleman is a expert in bird rescue and egg hatching from the Netherlands. He is amazing, having done this since childhood. One of his comments was "A lot of my time is spent feeding and cleaning up s- - -t (poop)". But like you Shae, it's the life he loves also with all his heart and I saw the commonality right away . It's part of doing what you love.

Impossible to keep them clean when you want to ride, and when you do want to ride, takes sooo much time to get them clean...to then ride in mud.😅 Whether you are farming, or own animals, it's definitely an "in your blood thing." I’m 74 years old and I lost my husband four years ago and I miss him so much 😢😢because he was just like Kyle. I still have three horses and five kitties. Start implementing pea gravel into your heavy muck areas and that will solve your winter heavy mucky problem. In the summer months it won't dry out their hooves because Michigan has humid summers not the California dry summer heat. Something to research & see if it could work for you. It's been a god send for the barns I've work at. Merry Christmas 🎄

Merry Christmas to all of you, congratulations for finding the horse you have been searching for, he is sweet and beautiful.

Living in the PNW, in what is a rainforest so going to be wet and therefore muddy always been a challenge for us for more than half a year, and we cannot count on deep freezes or snow to make the pastures anything less than mud puddles and what can appear to be low level swamp land. Back in mt grandfather' day, with the advent of motor driven equipment that could be put into service in many ways to do many things. My grandfather started on a long term project, initiallly to slowly grade many if the large pastures to allow for good run off areas that slowly took extra water from the higher end to the lower and then out towards the creek bed. This never allowed the upper pastures to dry out or lost good growth cycles but kept the pastures drier so that they never became mud pits which were dangerous not just to stock but were damaged so badly getting them to recover for grazing took well into summer. Sure this type of grading had to be often done every 2 years or so depending on the weather year to year, and the herd activity associated with age, training, handling, and personality year to year. Several years ago, after decades of dealing with the headaches of paddocks and outdoor runs that spent a good portion of the year fit more for housing swine than equine, where my husband put his military ditch digging to good use draining paddocks and areas of stall runs the of standing water that horses, mules and 2 milk cows often turned into flooded mud flows after an atmospheric river came through, my husband started wondering if the landscapers we had come in and lay drainsge fields under the back and front yard of our home so we got rid of the swamp that was our yard and which the dogs and people living their tracked in consistently, we drained the swamp and it stayed drained. It was an undertaking to say the least where the landscapers came in and dug up the yard around the house, laid down a field of gravel and substrate with a slight grade to it, the laid in 6 inch PVC pipe with small one way openings to let water in to carry off water, gradually connected to smaller pipes that lead off to the creek. It was pretty amazibg to actually watch the yard which would one have a couple of inches of standing water after a few days of rain rain or snow melt dry out almost as you watched and how much water could be seen running into the creek. The creek bed had been a dry bed most of the year before we started doing things to move watet too it, actually went back to being the wet creek that had been advertised as such when the propert was listed for sale many decades ago. It worked so well that after a few years we asked the landscaper if it was possible to do the same for the padfocks, outdoor arena, and stall runs around the barn. The landscspers we contracted with were a family from Vietnam who came to the US in the 1960's and set up a landscaping business which specialised in laying drainage fields to make yards stay drier or set up water feeds for yards that dried to quickly and could not maintain enough dampness for healthy grass griwth and so on. They actually were well known for rehabbing greens and courses that did not rely on watering in dry seasons with sorinkler systems or had periods of time when they were too wet to play on. In Vietnam the family had constructed both rice paddies, and water grazing areas for warer buffalo and most of that was done naturally without things like pumps or mechanical watering ststems and so on. By the time we were asking about drying out horse paddocks and outdoor stable areas, the newer generation of landscapers in the family had to bring their grandfather into consult on how best to do it given that the surface area was going to be impacted by heavy animals, and their grandfather was the last in the family having dealth with heavy traffic from some sort of buffalo. Each paddock was a big undertaking, moving and preserving top soil as well as digging out and saving good soil to be part if the substrate abd clearing out as much clay as possible that we did not know had had just had top soil dumped on top of it. They incorporated their more modern use of PVC pipes to establish a good drainage field deep enough under the soil and gravel substrate, that a horse running and jumping above would not collapse. It worked like a dream and simply giving it one day to drain out after a storm meant we had no standing water that got churned into mud and most paddocks kept some grass year round. We still get wet horses in that need to be dried and groomed but no longer see horses rolling in mud applying layer after layer of mud all winter long.

Watching her feed them is like my feeding routine for my two dogs. I make their food and bone broth. So AM is bone broth with their food, omega 3, CQ10 and probiotic. PM is food with vitamin mineral mix and dental powder. They love their food. And I make plenty to give my granddog. It is a joy to take care of ❤our wonderful babies. Oh and for Christmas Horse hooves!!

Farmers sometimes 'tile' their fields to prevent too much muck. It's basically a process of putting in French drains, which collect the water under ground, and carry it away, leaving the surface dry enough to be worked. You might look into it. Merry Christmas.

Horses that live in wet mud usually get bad hoofs. My friend lives where it gets a lot of mud. She used a lot of landscaping perforated tubes for underneath the paddocks, outdoor spaces the horses stay and it really improved by keeping the mud away by wishing the excess water and spilling it out into areas that aren’t being used.

If you guys haven't noticed, she continuously goes to auctions to get horses that aren't even in bad condition. She gets the flashy pretty ones and she eventually flips them. She is not a rescuer. She is just a horse flipper/trader.😂😂😂😂
