125 typically gets a whopping 9.7hp with that kit installed I've heard the increase is a additional 15-20hp which could give that bike 30+hp potentially and a 5 speed transmission added i bet you could take that bike from a top speed of 55mph to more like 75mph so now it will go highway speeds

@@ironsoul80sadly that new 5spd trans has the same gearing in 5th as the stock did in 4th.... you just have more acceleration due to the spacing of the gears....a rear sprocket change though would most certainly get you at least up to 70mph with the additional power.

My first bike was a Honda CT 70. Got a set of keys in a small box for Christmas when I was eleven. My neighbor owned two Honda shops and bored it out. I could pop wheelies with a twist of the wrist. An angry old man kept calling the cops on me every time I would go ridding on the giant field across the street. Ended up arrested and had to get rid of the bike. Still the best present I have ever gotten in my life.

To say this is awesome would be the downplay of the year. I always love what some people come up with. The trail 125 is one of those bike that we Canadian don't get to enjoy... Yet. Hey HPK, mind meeting me at the boarder and if you could just lob one over, that would be GREAT!

Yessir, you hit the nail on the head there! Same here, especially with some of these mini bikes as people go ham on them and seeing what some of the possibilities are is just too cool. I just need to hit the lotto so I can go ham with about 10 of these minis and maybe throw one over the border for ya lol ;) Fingers crossed with its latest round of emissions updates it'll finally make the trek over to Canada, Europe etc as you guys have really gotten the shaft on not getting this bike. If only we lived in a world where you could buy any new Honda that rolls off the production line, instead of this whole "this country gets this, that country gets that" crap that we have now. Maaaan oh man would that be awesome as Honda makes some cool stuff that most people have no idea about, since it's not imported into their home country and they're not on the internet digging around to see what else might be out there. I could ramble on about all of that for an hour but we won't go there as I'm already rambling on lol, appreciate ya watching bud ;)

I had the stock CT125. I'm not sure I would have wanted to go any faster. It was tiring having the wind on your legs at speed. A fairing sure helps with this. It was a fun bike and it was my first bike, but honestly buying the CB500X was a huge step up and a lot more enjoyable to ride.

I tried to order a new Honda 500 CBR from the local dealer and they’ve only received 1 bike, a 1000cc cruiser or something because of the supply chain parts issues so far this year. I would much rather have that tricked out Trail bike. I can ride my Ninja on the road but it won’t do what that fabulous little bike will do. Thanks for sharing. 👍☮️🌞❤️

Here in South East Asia already does a lot of customized engine of 100cc and 125cc Honda Cub. Just search on youtube "4v 66/5" you'll see a lot of Thailand people do customized 125cc engine

We restored a barn Honda 1969 CT90 Trail K-1 with 1,200 miles on it that has four gears, and if selected, a granny low range. After lapping the valves, new coil, rectifier, battery, points, de-rust the fuel tank, gas filters and full carb rebuild kit, it will do 50 mph, GPS, on the flat with my son riding it who weighs 180 pounds. The new CT125 with fuel injection will only do 55 mph, and does not have the low range gear box. The "power" of the 125cc over the old 90cc is subjective. I'm willing to bet in a pulling contest with the 1968 CT 90 low range gear selected, it will pull the CT 125 backwards.

Love this build. Gives the trail the slight boost on hp it needs. What I’m wondering though is how the new engine affects the mpg. I might try to do this myself and I love the trails high mpg, so I don’t want it to get too low, especially with it’s small fuel tank.

Maybe it's my earphones, but I couldn't tell any significant difference in the exhaust note. I guess you had to be there. Also, no mention of fuel consumption for the modified versus factory rig. I'm betting the range of this modified bike has been significantly reduced unless they also increased the fuel capacity, although no mention of fuel capacity was mentioned.
